The Astoria-Megler Bridge, on West Marine Drive, in Astoria, OR 97103 is elegant and a masterful feat of engineering. It is fun to drive over. 53 year old and the longest continuous truss bridge in North America, spanning the Columba River from Oregon to Washington.

Great city, amazing bridge & craft beers! Riding over the bridge was spectacular but the hill with the wind and limited space for cyclists made it a little challenging. Must visit Buoy brewery.

From Astoria your drive up and around in a circle before you reach the bridge. It goes high up and made me feel like very anxious due to my fear of heights. I almost froze and had to stop, and there is no place to...More

Had to drive over it just for the experience. My wife and I both hadn’t drove over for 35 years. Decided to take a trip up to Long Beach for no particular reason

We saw the bridge as we arrived at our hotel. We looked at it many times throughout every day because it was there. We watched ships of various sizes and types move under it. Same with birds. And, when we left town, we drove across....More

This reviewer remembers well the ferry rides from Astoria to Washington, back in the 50s. Well, the bridge that obsoleted them is wonderful, rising steeply on the Astoria side to allow grain and cruise ships to pass underneath. Then, a steep downhill to 3 miles...More

No. It is a 2-lane road. Speed limit is 55 I believe. So it would not be safe for bicycles.
