So this was one of my first escape rooms I’ve ever done and if I could I’d love to keep coming back to it cause it’s by far one of the best rooms I’ve ever seen. Sugar Foot aka Natasha was there as big brother watching us the whole time and made everything fun and enjoyable while keeping us all from strangling each other. Sugar Foot, I can’t thank you enough and neither can your now little army of Sugar Toes.

Gracias!!!

We booked this since each group played privately and not with others, which was critical for us during COVID. We played rendezvous. We went as a family of five - two adults, and three teens ranging from 12 to 17. We have done two other escape rooms in the past (not in Jax), one that we solved and one not. This one (Rendezvous)was pretty tough - had to use a few hints. Almost completed but ran out of time. Wished we had finished. But, a great way to spend an hour as a family and get outside of the house! Note - these rooms are usually played in order. This was our first room at One Way Out, and I think it was fine not doing the first room! We picked it because the special effects sounded neat (yes) and the escape rate was higher (oh well!).

I had only been to one other escape room that was located in Tampa so I'm not an expert. This one was a little more fun and challenging. The setting was one had a little more of a real look and feel to it. It even had sound effects to simulate the deep woods at night.

My wife and I are experienced players and have played most of the rooms at One Way Out. Black Site left a bad taste in our mouths. I will do my best to not spoil anything about the room in this review.
Starting off restrained; fine. Not the first time in an escape room, probably not the last. However, leaving the key recovery to chance, time waster. Electronics are great in rooms. Except when there are default lockouts that waste more time. I get it, this is the hardest room at the location, but it didn't necessarily have to be with better time management. Also, equipment that was vital for the final code didn't seem to work properly.
The biggest complaint about this room was the lack of timely hints. It took at least 5 minutes for the gamemaster to respond to our request for a hint. When 10% of your time is spent waiting on a clue, it's no wonder the escape room is so low. I found out, after we ran out of time, that there was only one gamemaster running all 7 rooms. No wonder we couldn't get a clue!
I know One Way Out wants to be different than your average escape room, but some aspects of "different" aren't always the best. One gamemaster for 7 complex rooms with faulty equipment would qualify.

Our 3 person team signed up for the Collision room and upon entering we were very impressed by the look of the room. We immediately had high hopes. Our team solved one of the first puzzles and while we were working on the second puzzle, our game master started redirecting us to a different area. We followed instructions, abandoned the puzzle we were working on, and moved forward to another area. Later during our game we came to realize the puzzle we were directed to abandon at the beginning of the game was needed, so we had to go back to the beginning of the room to complete it. We then realized we had a missing piece to a puzzle in our room, so one of the staff had to stop the game and come into the room to give it to us. Another clue was so worn off an object it was illegible!! The staff stated this must have happened the day prior, but it was evident the wear on the objects was from repeated use and lack of care when setting up the game. When clues in the game WERE legible, we were repeatedly given prompts without asking from our game master. Our team was becoming increasingly frustrated during this process as we have all done numerous escape rooms in the past and would much rather fail the room on our own then be told every step without the opportunity to figure it out. As an aside, our team did escape with 6 minutes left; however, they may as well have just given the win to the game master as we were able to compete very little of the work.
To top off this very poor experience, the room was extremely hot. It’s understandable for it to be warm during a Florida summer, but it was almost unbearable.
10/10 would not recommend.

My friend and I traveled from Orlando to do some escape rooms in the Jax area for my birthday and One Way Out was by far our favorite venue of the three we visited. We have done about 80 rooms and we understand how important a good game master and customer service means. And we were welcomed warmly and had so much fun during our games, even the one we didn't escape from. Cant wait to travel back someday to complete the rest storyline... thank you ladies for a great weekend!

This is a “must do” in Jacksonville! We had an amazing time trying to escape in an hour and plan to do this again. It’s an excellent way to build teamwork and a fun way to spend time with family or friends. We started with ESC201 and plan to do the rest of the series. The staff was amazing, and the place was clean and had all safety protocols in place for COVID-19, and believe me, that is a HUGE concern with me. We can’t wait to do this again, and this is one Christmas present knocked off my list!

I’ve done a few of the rooms here it’s one of my favorite places to go. The puzzles and the room set ups are great and the staff particularly Sugarfoot aka Natasha are the best!!!!! She manages to give clues that are helpful but make you think. Can’t wait to do another one with game master Sugarfoot!!!!

I went to One Way Out for a friend's birthday party the week after going to Breakout for an event with coworkers. While the staff at One Way Out was really nice, Breakout was a more entertaining escape room experience. One Way Out was too easy.

To be honest when I went their last it was upsetting because we were able to hear the lady speak with the other gamers about their clue which was confusing to us because I was unsure who she was speaking too. Was very upsetting
