My husband and I attended the first Symphon in over seven months, but you couldn't tell it by the quality performance of the musicians, the Conductor, Gonzolo Farias, and the three singers from New York. It was wonderful to feel some sense of normalcy again, dressing up for a real night out. If you haven't been to the Jacksonville Symphony, it is worth it. I highly recommend supporting our Symphony if you are able to do so.

One of the nation's premier symphonies. Delighted that they continue to perform their music live (and streaming) while taking exceptional care to protect concert goers and musicians. We enjoyed Holiday Pops for the first time and were happy to have a chance to forget about life for awhile. Looking forward to listening to them with guest performer Tony DeSare for Valentines Day.

This was the first performance since before covid happened and it was such a joy to experience the skills and talents of this wonderful orchestra led by Gonzalo Fabrias. Felt so good to actually get dressed up and go out on a date with my wife.
We were so impressed with the way they handled the social distancing , wearing of masks and greeting everybody as we walked in.
The Theme was "The Pop Series" and this one was "Music of The Knights" Songs by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John. Led by vocalists Chris Blem, Blaine Krauss, Scott Coulter and Pianist John Clanton.
This was so fun with Chris giving poignant, fun and meaningful introductions. A night filled with great memories of yesterday and sad moments of realizing life is not how it used to be.
So inspired and grateful that we were able to be there.
Such a wonderful evening. A must if you are a music fan.

The JAX Symphony is fabulous. The performance hall is spectacular with excellent acoustics. The Symphony is top notch and the programs are to die for. Having just left CT with close proximity to NY, we rarely went to the NY Philharmonic because of the programs. JSO has program after program that are fantastic. We actually bought two different subscriptions and just went to the Billy Joel tribute concert. To say it was fabulous is an understatement. If you live in the JAX area you should go. If you visit, make a special trip to see/hear it.

We went tot he symphony last weekend to see the symphony perform with 4 very talented singers showcasing Broadway tunes. The orchestra and singers were all outstanding but unfortunately for the first act we had poor second level box seats that had an obstructed view and you were behind the speakers so that you could not hear the singers. We were re-seated in a much better section for the second act and that is when we could hear the performance much better. This one bad incident would not keep me away from these performances as the Jacksonville Symphony is truly outstanding and a Great Benefit to the community

I have previously commented on the Jax Symphony and am once again compelled to do so, as they have now added opera to their repertoire. As with everything they do, this was exceptional. My husband is the opera fan, and I have usually viewed the event as an expensive nap. But, this time I was riveted throughout the performance, and since it is Jacksonville and not the NYC Met, the pricing is really affordable. For us, the price for both our tickets was less than one up north, and with premium seats. Actually, there is not a bad seat in the entire house. The orchestra is superb, and the creative staging of the opera, this time Don Giovanni, was such that the more typical elaborate staging was not missed. We were also very impressed with the quality of the vocal talent. A number of the performers had "big city" credentials, including the NYC Met; those that didn't still were very strong. The Times Union Center is a beautiful facility, and is a treat to be in for any of the shows that are presented there.

Our Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra is a delightful experience for all audiences. They have so many concerts and options for families, young professionals, music experts and just folks who want a great night out. Tickets are affordable and the Jacoby Hall they perform in is superb. It's amazing that a city our size can have such an outstanding orchestra!

Saw the West Point Glee Club there with the JSO. It was sold out but ticketmaster showed three seats on the first row in the middle. What luck. Had never had the opportunity to be that close. Hall was beautiful and if you get the opportunity Jacoby Hall is first class. Not sure of exact time we were there. I'm putting February but not sure.

Adds some well needed culture and fun to our city. Beautiful orchestra and a great place to spend a weekend or week day evening with a loved one or friend.
