I feel compelled to write a review of an institution we absolutely luv to go to. There is a review citing poor customer service, and in the many years I have attended performances at The Alhambra, customer service is exemplary. The few times I have needed assistance or special consideration, the staff in the office have bent over backwards to meet my needs. This includes working out situations with the covid crisis which was not of their making. The shows are top notch, and the food is exceptional. Craig and Gary Smith go out of their way to ensure a special evening for their patrons. We drive over an hour to attend the shows and have never once left without full tummies and complimentary conversation about the show. Please try The Alhambra!! You will Not be disappointed.

When this past friday night we had tickets orginally for may 8th but due to covid the world was turned upside down . They finally open to 50% so now on the the review we will were assigned table A18 which is one of the worst table because you can only see a small part of the stage and the backs of the heads we were orginally set for A17 a little better angle . Now on to the dinner and the service ordered our drinks two ordered beer and asked for two glasses BUT had to employ hand signal because because he was back by the coffee pots and i had to motion to him as to getting the glasses. Meal came and everything was hot and presented nicely wife had the turkey it was great i had the chicken fried steak had great taste but it was too salty i only ate a third of it due to the salt .dessert was great brownie was super size and a good sugar rush overall the show was a 10 plus and that was opening week well worth seeing

Saw a GREAT production of "Music Man" some great acting and wonderful singing. The husband and wife team led the show and were just wonderful. Unlike many dinner theaters the dinner was excellent. The entire cast performed beautifully and a couple of the younger performers were outstanding. The timing of some of the comedic scenes was perfect and hilarious.

I could give a ZERO rating, I would. Alhambra closed down last year because of Covid 19, and people who had bought advance tickets in 2020 were informed that they would be able to use them up until June 1, 2021 once the theatre reopened. Although the theatre has been open now for a few months in 2021, my husband and I were not comfortable going to an enclosed venue before we were vaccinated (we're in our 70s and 80s - as are many of Alhambra's customers). When I tried to make reservations using my four tickets for the last two shows, Alhambra was operating at much reduced seating capacity and there were no seats available for anyone using advance tickets (which Alhambra restricts to Sunday and Tues - Thurs), although seats were available for Friday - Saturday performances.
I sent an email to Craig Smith, the CEO and owner, explaining the situation and requesting that he extend the time or days allowed to book, as there were undoubtedly many others in my situation who were unable to use their tickets. I did not even receive the courtesy of a response.
My $150.00 is gone. Although I have been a loyal customer for many years, I will never go back to the Alhambra, nor will I recommend it to anyone else.

Sandy, we would be happy to chat more with you about your options over the phone. I assure you, the money you spent is not gone. We would be happy to work with you.
I just looked and we still have seats left for several performances of Smoke on the Mountain. Give us a call tomorrow, Tuesday, we are open 11 am - 7 pm.
Edit: It looks like you called us after you wrote this review and we were able to find seats for you. So glad it all worked out! We hope you enjoy Smoke on the Mountain and The Music Man!

First time to Alhambra since my early years. The establishment was clean and looked great. We were told that the carpet will replaced soon, as the walls had been recently painted. They are definitely reinvesting their money back into the establishment. The food and service was excellent. The show was amazing. We saw rock of Ages. i would recommend the Alhambra for couples looking for a great dinner show, or for couples looking for a romantic evening. We are definitely going back, we already have our reservations.

Now i know this may cause people to get upset with me but i have to say whats on my mind . So here it goes to start the food tonight 2/15/2020 was outstanding i had the pork with mushroom gravy a rice everything was delicious and the soup was hot ,desert was outstanding. The server desiree was spot on . Now for the part that i might be nailed to the wall the elvis show was one of the saddest moments I've ever heard. The band was very good. Kevin was singing off key and even closing my eyes he didn't sound any way near elvis his movements was good his interaction with the audience was great . I know people will disagree with me and they have that right to . I live in a retirement community and my wife and i served as activities planer for our Home Owners Association and we had a labor day show with a elvis impersonator and that show was far better than the one we seen tonight

I have been attending the Alhambra since 2017 when I first moved to Jacksonville. Craig, Gary and the entire staff (box office, servers, management, greeters, etc.) are among the best that I have ever experienced. Their fairness, professionalism, desire to please, in abundance, make the entire organization an utter delight to deal with.
They are truly a case study in ideal standards for entertainment and customer service.
Congratulations to Becky for her long and dedicated service to the Alhambra. This is a testament to the greatness of the organization, its management and staff.
Happy Holidays and thanks for your kind services.
Cheers!!!

We went last night. Got there early and went to happy hour at the bar. Had another bartender who wanted to shake my martini until I stopped her. Attention bartenders: rule of thumb is “don’t shake a drink not containing juice”. We had to go to our seats without a hostess aiding us. The first time that occurred Dinner was uneven. Spinach salad had little dressing on it, but a puddle of dressing was at the bottom of the plate. My entree was a pork ribeye. It was a fairly big piece of meat, and I found it difficult to cut with my table knife. Where are the steak knives? The bread pudding dessert was very good. My main gripe was our seats. After sitting at our table for the 3 course meal and the first act of the show, my seat was becoming hard and uncomfortable. I was glad for the intermission so I could stand up and reestablish blood circulation to my posterior. We’ll be back because we always have a nice time here, but management needs to get more padded seats the next time that replace the current ones. Last nights experience earns a four and a half star rating.

I saw a wonderful matinee of the production of the sound of music this weekend. The food was very tasty I had the shrimp au gratin. I’ve never been to this venue and I thought it was incredibly charming. The play was wonderful and many times during the performance I was moved. A Jacksonville gem.

The meal was fabulous! The chef offered delicious variety to appeal to many. The show, Footloose, was lively and fun. A delightful evening of entertainment. If you have a chance, do catch a show here. Well worth it.

Is seating for two only available, or must the couple share a table with another table? Also, is table selection possible or does the Mgt seat where they wish?
Thanks

Once you log onto the Alhambra web site, you can check the availability of seating for each day and time. There are tables for 4 or 6 people, so you will always be sharing a table with others. This actually leads to added enjoyment of the evening among new found friends.

Can you suggest a hotel close to the theater

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL57 contributions
There are not many options in and around the dinner theater. You should check the hotel listings for Jacksonville Beach. It is a very quick 10-15 minute drive to the theater.

We will be in from ft. Lauderdale and we want to go see Beauty and the Beast with our whole family (3 kids, 4 babies, 6 adults) possibly more. Do you think this is appropriate? How long is the experience?
Thanks for your help!

The show's typically run about three hours with a break of about 15-20 minutes. I think anytime you are seeing a show aimed at a younger audience, things are much more kid-friendly. The atmosphere is very warm and the staff are very helpful.

True formal wear, i.e. tuxedo, for New Years Eve or a really nice coat and tie for men? Thanks

Dress at Alhambra is “wide variety”! Some men are in sports coats & women dressed in long dresses, etc, but most are “business casual” & semi-casual. I don’t think anyone would feel uncomfortable there short of super-recreational or “beachwear”!🙂
