It is quiet and peaceful to walk around the park. The walking path around the park is fine with a view of the river all the way around. Some damage to the sea wall since the last hurricane but repair is underway. A beautiful spot.

Large city park located near interesting number of resturants, bars and shops. Parking is somewhat limited but worth finding. Lots of people in evening and on weekends. Safe and full of young families and older people. Nice place to take a break.

The Memorial Park Association is an all volunteer not for profit Board of Directors and serves its mission "to enhance, promote and preserve Memorial Park as the premier historic park in the City of Jacksonville". We are stewards of the park, assisting the city in the care, maintenance and capital improvements to this 100 year old gem!
As for running in the park at 6 AM, it is dark during the Fall and Winter months, so it is advisable to have a running partner.
