Memorial Park is located at 1620 Riverside Avenue, between Margaret Street and Memorial Park Drive in Riverside near the 5 Points area of Jacksonville, Florida.

It is one of Jacksonville's best loved treasures. Located along the banks of the majestic St. Johns River (incidentally, at one of its widest points, as it starts to turn east from its southern source towards its mouth at the Atlantic Ocean), this six-acre park draws visitors from across the Northeast Florida community.

On any given day, families and friends, athletes and yogis, sunbathers, fisherman, and readers enjoy a quiet respite with magnificent views from this landmark open space. The park is walking distance to local restaurants and pubs, the shops at 5 Points, and the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, and just a short drive to Downtown.

I love this park as it is large and welcoming. The neighborhood is easy to walk, but I do wish parking were a bit easier. Being Riverside, parking is scarce as it is a walking neighborhood. Every time we go there, the park is clean and the grass is well maintained.

Great location with a great view. The sculpture is magnificent with more to be seen up close. The people were friendly; offering assistance in taking pictures of us. Mr. Sinclair, a retired postman, was cordial, informative and a great grandfather as he was showing his grandson how to fish.

The walkway along this side of the river is very nice for a leisurely stroll, but the smell is not very pleasant. Yes, I know its a river with fish, etc, but it smelled more like a drained swamp at least at the time we were there. Possibly low tide?

Situated along the river, this park offers wonderful views of the river. It's small but a great place to visit. Plenty of shade and benches available.

Jacksonville, for a river city, has only limited access to the St John's River for most people. Memorial Park is one spot in the city that does provide river access and view for the common folks. It is a beautiful spot and one can enjoy the nice breeze from the river.

Metropolitan Park is an outstanding oasis for a leisurely afternoon on the banks of the St. Johns River, now being improved by needed renovations. Bring a blanket, pick up some sandwiches and drinks at a nearby restauant and relax!!

Great open park overlooking the water. Tons of places to sit. Large open field in the middle to throw a ball or frisbee or fly a kite.

I love this park! I have had my morning stretch here under the tree and the view of the ocean is amazing. this a great place to just relax and learn to take those deep breaths that we need in life. Take a book or a friend. I have even spotted people fishing here as well.
