This area in Downtown Jacksonville is beautiful the scenary, however it needs to be taken care of. Looks like a while ago it was a happening place, it has a lot of potential. Will definitely return, however hope they put money into the area!

Second time visiting the Landings. Both times it was like a ghost town. Not sure how these places stay open. Many shops Closed during day. Nobody there, very few eating at food court. Might try again during a scheduled activity, but otherwise I'll stay away....More

We've been going to The Landing for nearly a decade. Even before the tragic shooting there in 2018, its popularity has waned as a place to shop and socialize. There are no more quality stores and all the good restaurants have moved on to other...More

Beautiful riverfront spot.. But could use help. Nothing to really draw people here. Only a handful of sub par restaurants and no entertainment. As a native New Yorker I suppose I was hoping for something similar to the South Street Seaport.

A lot of places were closed when we were there. Seemed empty and deserted. We went on a weekday afternoon so that maybe why. Would not return.

The Landing started out with nice shops, restaurants, etc. but has gone really downhill in the last few years. Smart people will avoid this area because of the violence that erupts on a regular basis since gangs seem to love to hang out here and...More

This may have been a place to go to once but it’s currently hard to tell if any of the (limited) stores are even open. It’s run down, shabby and quite a few homeless around.

It's not that big of a place that you need a map. The Landing consists of less than a dozen (not particularly great) restaurants and a few stores. None of which are very impressive. The only thing that makes this place... More

The Jacksonville Landing loves dogs! In addition to the events, all of our restaurant patios are also dog-friendly. Additionally, we host a monthly Yappy Hour for dogs and their parents. You can take a look at our full list... More

It's best to park at a parking meter and walk to the landing. If it's after 7pm or on the weekend, no fees will be due.

Beautiful tree lighting and Christmas music from a high. School choir tonight. Then went to Vito's italian... Wow. Sat at bar. Ordered drinks. Steve got his. I didn't. Finished his and no one ever came back. Had to holler to pay out. Went to Chicago pizza. Wow not much difference! Got drinks. Orderd dinner. Wrong thing came out and waitress argues with us about what we ordered! Ordered another drink- didnt get it _ hollered , wavedn finally whistled - then the waitresses complained about...More

Staying the night at Tallahassee and heading to Orlando after that for Disney World. Thinking of detouring to Jacksonville and heading to Orlando via I95 after that since we have never been to this areas. I am thinking of stopping by Jacksonville for a look around and then lunch before driving to Orlando. My travel group consist of 2 adults and 2 kids (8 and 10). Perhaps walking around Jacksonville Landing. Would appreciate for any suggestions of nice to place to stop and spend a couple...More

Instead of Jacksonville, visit St. Augustine - the oldest American city. Then drop in on Daytona Beach (drive on the beach) before heading to Orlando.

St Pattys Day in Jacksonville (2 Replies)
My husband and I will be in Jacksonville on St Patrick's Day and am looking for advice on a good pub to celebrate it. I found Fionn MacCools at the Jacksonville Landing but am wondering if that is a bit touristy. We don't mind driving to nearby towns if there is a cool suggestion to check out. Thanks for your help!!

Thanks spirit! I did see culhanes and lynchs in my search, I think we'll do exactly what you suggested and stay near the beach area instead of go in to the landing downtown. I really appreciate your advice, seems like you love st pats day as much as I do!
