Go if you have kids (maybe) but not worth $16 for adults as the planetarium is not included. It should not be called a museum as that is very misleading. It is a kind of play area or entertainment for kid a for a few hrs.

Medium to small sized museum, but it is a perfect fit for the city.
Very nicely located next to the river and riverwalk.
Plenty of (free due to covid ??) parking
Interesting science, biological, etc exhibits with the added benefit of getting to know a lot of Jacksonville's history.
Allow some 2-3 hours

Prior reviews were mediocre but we had a half day to fill with grandkids 11, 10 & 9 while we waited for temps to warm up. And 1/2 as much as Zoo plus indoor and less time.
Almost everything is hands on (with sanitizers everywhere) and kids enjoy playing old style games plus grandparents even remember how to play them.
Planetarium presents seasonal informative cartoon about constellation origins for extra $5.00 but good break between exhibits.
Highly recommend for filling 2-3 hours with a combo of education and fun. Upon leaving, my daughter immediately called another family on vacation to add “MOSH” to their schedule.

Loved it! It's obviously designed to draw children into science with a lot of moving dinosaurs and interactive exhibits, but it has a lot to interest adults, as well. We also learned much from the dinosaur exhibits and science talks, but our favorite part was the Florida history section which went back thousands of years and helped us understand much of Florida's past that we've never known much about. There was a lot to read- which would not be of much interest to kids- but we loved it, and could have spent several hours learning more. I expect we'll go back there again when we return to Jacksonville.

We took our 6 and 2 year old here. The exhibits are really tailored for 10 and up age children. But everything felt really dated. It would be really nice if they had exhibits for a wider range of children. The best part is definitely the Planetarium.

Very nice exhibits. Had read it was better for children ,but I disagree. They had something for everyone no matter what age. Loved the history of Jacksonville exhibit, very interesting. Would definitely reccomend visiting .

The kids enjoyed the MOSH. Flexible policy to come back in was perfect for us to grab a bite at a near restaurant. There is no restaurant at the museum.

Some areas could use some update, but it provided a great option for a muggy dat in JAX.

A short walk over the bridge from Jacksonville Landing. Typical science museum with rotating specials (one being dismantled when we visited).

The first day in Jax, I came directly to MOSH, explored the museum and its expositions. You can't expect a lot from this museum, though it's nice and interesting. During my visit, the second floor was under refurbishment. The Planetarium expositions are really nice.

This is a very amateurish place, aimed primarily for children. Most of the exhibits are loaded with colorful paragraphs of text, all ignored by the kids and most adults. The hands-on stuff doesn't usually work. The only thing that is clear is the name of each corporate sponsor... loud and clear! Kids under 10 would not enjoy... Majority of the kids I saw were under that age, many of them crying and bored.
