Part of the tour of his home. Beautiful. If you have a National park's All Access Pass you get in for free. Take the tour and learn about the amazing history of FDR and his family.

We had a wonderful docent-led tour of Top Cottage while visiting the FDR museum and presidential library. It was FDR’s little slice of heaven about two miles from Springwood, where he grew up and his mother’s home. The docent told us many interesting and enlightening...More

I think that this is the newest attraction at the Franklin Roosevelt National Historic Site that includes his home, library and Val-Kill. This simple cottage was build by FDR about 1938. It is about two miles from Springwood. It was designed to be a retreat...More

I included this in my tour of the area. It is, at best, a 15 minute stop. Unfortunately, because of the way it is set up you have to take the park service bus. It takes forever and the bus does not return quickly. It...More

Getting a tour by a volunteer docent who loves the history, the landscape, the trails made this a memorable experience. She chatted with us sitting on the porch and pointed out where Winston Churchill sat, the Queen sat and so many others. It's off the...More

This Sculpture was part of the Berlin Wall and was designed by FDR’s Granddaughter. It is behind the Presidential Museum. It also has a bust of Churchill and FDR. Don’t miss.

A stone cottage that nearly bankrupted the President, built for him with guidance from his female cousin. A retreat to which he brought dignitaries, including the King and Queen of England. Very plain compared the "official" home down the hill closer to the Hudson River.

Top Cottage has been part of the FDR venue for quite a few years now, and it's a wonderful addition!! It appears regularly in books and is well worth the visit. FDR built this to get away from the Big House and be himself and...More
