Thoroughly enjoyed the visit to FDR's home. Almost as it was when he lived there. Would recommend this to anyone interested in history.

Our tour guide was very perfunctory and a bit dry for my taste but she was very informed and helpful. The entire experience was very inspiring. Have been watching the Ken Burns "The Roosevelt's" series on Netflix since the visit to get a better understanding.

We gave ourselves 2 hrs and really enjoyed the film and house tour but had no time for the library which seems to be the real gem. But with young kids, the house tour was likely more 'entertaining'. Our kids like to ask questions and...More

The young lady that gave our tour was from the area and made the tour enjoyable. The home is worth the visit to see how FDRs style differed from the Vanderbilt life style

Together with the library, the exhibits present the life of FDR and the period leading up to - and through - World War II, including the depression era and Roosevelt's programs to restore the economy.

I think visiting the homes of historical figures brings them to life in an unique way. Interestingly this is a large home, but it must have been a bit crowded with FDR, Eleanor, his mother, their children, ongoing visitors and servants. The home, ( Springwood)...More

The NPS staff provides an excellent tour of the Roosevelt home which had been well preserved since his Presidency. You will need to purchase a book of interior photos since the rooms are kept dark to preserve the artifacts

One can get a sense of how the President lived; the rooms tell you about all you need to know about the relationships between the President, his wife, and his mother. Compared to the Vanderbilt mansion down the road, the rooms here of much smaller...More

The whole house is open. Most rooms are viewed from the doorway and the Park Rangers are amazingly knowledgeable and give lots of information .
