Went on my own as heard from others at Sachs Bridge was a must. Saw and felt nothing. However my interior light on my rental didn't come on there but did come on down the road later that evening at Sachs Bridge, approx 10 minutes? Also phone and camera batteries drained almost completely and they started fully charged.

Taking a Ghost walk tour was on the bottom of my to do list while visiting Gettysburg. However last night they talked me into it and I am so glad they did. It was just enough spookiness to not freak me out and the history part was very interesting. Had a great time! Thank you Ghost walk tours of Gettysburg!

Thank you Stewart for making Gettysburg history come alive. We contacted Stewart after reading the excellent reviews. My best friend and I booked 2 ghost tours. The first was from 8-9:30pm and the second was with Stewart from 10:00-12:00 (but we didn't get back to our room until 2am). The first tour was a complete waste of time. We stood in a couple of parking lots for about an hour listening to ghost stories. We were feeling a little discouraged when we met Stewart but that quickly changed to anticipation after our tour started. I have been on ghost tours across the nation and I must say that this was absolutely the best by far. I enjoyed it so much that I am going to re-book this tour when my family fly up in the fall. Stewart was extremely knowledgeable, not only regarding Gettysburg history, but also the legitimate ghost activity and the history behind the hauntings. I can not say enough nice things about the whole experience. If ghost hunting is not your thing, then book a history tour with him. He gave us information that most tours would not provide about individuals and locations during the civil war. The cost was completely reasonable and affordable. I personally don't like doing tours with a large group, feeling as if I am being herded from one location to another like cattle. If you feel this way too, then contact this gentleman and you will leave Gettysburg feeling as if you have had a rich and fulfilling trip.

The website doesn't tell you how long the tours are or what time they start. The history part was interesting but the ghost hunting took forever. My recommendation is that the History & Haunts tour should be 2-3 hours max.

Wow was this a letdown. After reading all about Stewart and this tour, my family and I were excited about doing the combined tour/ghost hunting expedition. Upon booking about a month out, Stewart told us over the phone he would contact us the morning of to let us know exactly where to meet. Upon the day of our tour, we heard nothing from him. We then called the business line about 3 times throughout the day to find out what was going on. Finally, we went to the business' physical location to find no one there. Thinking we just got scammed out of almost $170, we finally get a call about two hours before the tour time from some lady telling us where to meet. Upon arriving Stewart told us he wasn't feeling well and let two kids take us out on the tour. This was a huge letdown from the start as we booked this tour specifically because we heard all the great things about Stewart. The poor kids were so unexperienced and clearly terrified at the prospect of giving this tour. They read from a binder and stumbled through stories. I couldn't hear a word that most of them were saying and we fumbled around the town in the dark. After about an hour of that, my family and I decided to leave rather than continue this meaningless tour and did not partake in the ghost hunt leg. This was supposed to be the pinnacle of our weekend in Gettysburg, and it became the worst experience by far. I was so upset I called and asked for my money back, but still haven't gotten any response from "Stewart". I understand people get sick, but he should of rectified this by letting us know and cancelling the tour - or telling me guests he had new people filling in and giving us half off or something at least to struggle through that garbage.

Dear Guest,
On behalf of History and Haunts, I want to apologize for you not having a good time on your tour. I would like to address some of your comments though, as regards to the tour itself.
1.) "Stewart said he would contact us the morning of"......This is a false statement because Stewart works a full time job and rarely makes the calls. If he does, it isn't until later in the afternoon when he gets off work and heads to our office from his job.
2.)"Upon arriving Stewart told us he wasn't feeling well and let two kids take us out on the tour.".....As reference to James and Cierra, Every tour guide, including Stewart, reads from a binder because it is filled with direct quotes and reference from the actual people they are talking about. I spoke with Stewart about this tour, he informed me that he followed the tour to watch the guides and see how they did, all along watching you play on your cellphone and not really paying attention to them of trying to enjoy what they said.
3.)"I was so upset I called and asked for my money back, but still haven't gotten any response from "Stewart"......This is absolutely Untrue, you received a call and spoke with the owner that very night, and also, spoke with Stewart the very next day. You were offered to have a private tour with Stewart at no charge for any future visit you made to Gettysburg for you and your family.
4.)"I understand people get sick, but he should of rectified this by letting us know and cancelling the tour"......Cancelling the tour was not an option when we had other guests that night on the tour with you. If it was just you, then yes, it could have. I believe that if you would have stayed on the tour, your experience would have been a lot better. During the ghost hunt, the other guest has amazing experiences and memorable ones, as well.
With all of the people on the tour that night, you were the only ones that didn't have a good time. Once again, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, but, before you decide to point fingers, make sure the facts are straight first. Thank You and have a great day.

There's a reason why there are all excellent reviews here for History and Haunts! Well earned and well deserved. We arrived at 10:00 to a location in the heart of town where Stewart took us on THE best walking tour of Gettysburg's most significant Civil war structures. Stew kept our group small and intimate and made the town and its history come alive in a way this C- in History could understand and internalize.. He gave us so much information on what happened there and also described the harsh reality civilians faced when war came to their town... Stew loved questions while giving us the real history... All other tours we passed that night were simply telling urban legends in a " I believe this is what might have happened"... Then it was ghost hunting time... The best and creepiest and most active location was chosen and he provided flashlights meters and started the SVP recorder... Man oh man... My heart was nonstop all night... PS.. We didn't leave until we had to get home to let our Dog out... Almost 2am. .Go ahead and try to find a tour that you can say when its over...Stew was very passionate and educated and would have even stayed longer investigating why our energy meters were going berserk on Sachs bridge... BOOK THIS TOUR every chance you get... No disappointment gimmicks or rip offs here!!! Stew, can't wait to come again!!! Thank you!!

This is an absolutely must do when in Gettysburg!! We have done several ghost tours and walks and this was by far the best! The evening started with a walk around Gettysburg with engaging and entertaining stories of the battle. Then is was time to get down to business and get ghost hunting! We gathered some fascinating evidence and I heard my first ever EVP. I will definitely be back to hunt with Stewart again!

I've had a recent fascination with learning about and understanding paranormal encounters, so as I was planning a trip to Gettysburg I thought it would be the perfect opportunity for my first paranormal tour/investigation. What I did NOT want was a theatrical performance with inaccurate accounts of history, “ghost stories", or cheesy gimmicks or tricks to make me think I was experiencing a real paranormal encounter. What I did want was something real, someone who was an experienced paranormal investigator and knowledgeable about the history of Gettysburg. After thoroughly researching just about every place that offered ghost/paranormal tours/investigations in Gettysburg, History and Haunts of Gettysburg was the only one that stood out as being exactly what I wanted and nothing that I didn't want. I was even more convinced after I talked to Stewart about booking a tour. I am SO happy I did, because after my tour last week with Stewart, I couldn't have expected anything better. Stewart was an amazing guide and he made me part of the experience, not like I was a random tourist on a tour. He’s definitely an experienced and professional paranormal investigator and an incredibly knowledgeable Civil War historian. I learned so much about the Civil War and Gettysburg, which I think is crucial in doing a paranormal investigation there. Stewart’s expertise and experience proved itself throughout our eventful evening, which made for an amazing adventure and experience that I will never forget! I am so confident in his abilities as a paranormal investigator, he's smart, safe and respectful about it, which is really important when it comes to doing paranormal investigations (believe me, I wouldn't want to be out in the middle of the night in areas known to be haunted if I felt I was with someone inexperienced or unsafe!). One thing that really stood out to me that differed from other ghost tours was the fact that I was told upfront that they couldn't promise any type of paranormal encounter; if someone promised me otherwise, I wouldn't have trusted their authenticity. However, I did have my very first paranormal experience (and a few!)…and when that happens for the first time, something you hear or witness yourself and KNOW there is no other possible explanation…it’s absolutely mind blowing. And when it happened, and I wasn't really expecting it, Stewart definitely made me feel comfortable and calm, then eager and excited for more! I am already trying to plan a second trip to Gettysburg for another experience with Stewart and History and Haunts of Gettysburg!

My husband and I took our first ghost hunt recently and although we have no others to compare it to we’d like to critique this experience as first-rate. We have been on several ghost tours/walks but they have paled in comparison. Hearing stories (folklore) from people dressed in period costume has intrigued us on occasion but this experience was a horse of a different color. History & Haunts is just what it claims to be, history and haunts. As promised, we were met at our motel by Stuart who brought Ed, a fellow investigator with him. After introductions we followed Stuart to our first stop. Before getting started we were given a short prelude about expectations and such; afterwards we were each given an EMF meter along with the history of where we were standing, a section of Gettysburg College campus. Stuart then began recording the session and our hunt was officially underway. We began combing the area with our meters and asked “the spirits” a few questions along the way. While walking to and fro the group engaged in light conversation. It felt as though we were speaking with old acquaintances. After a couple of hours Stuart was ready to head us over to the next location. Although we didn’t encounter activity on our meters, except for when we crossed over railroad tracks, we did manage to get a few orbs in our photos. Stuart also mentioned that evidence may have been recorded or captured on his equipment and that findings would be shared via email at a later time. Our next stop was Sachs Bridge. After getting the history of the bridge Stuart walked us down the road to an old house where Ed told us about an experience he had there. We stood for awhile snapping photos and Stuart seemed to capture something. To us it looked like a face but won’t be sure until further examination. We continued a short distance to a spot near a wooded area where Stuart offered a cigarette to ‘Tennessee”, a spirit soldier. The cigarette looked as if someone was taking a drag and nicotine was evidenced on the filter. We also saw a shadow figure at the edge of the woods line and Stuart advised us to just turn around and walk away since he felt it was a hostile entity. We headed back towards our vehicles and since we had already been out for hours my husband and I decided to break for the night. We can’t wait for our next trip to Gettysburg so that we can do this again. What a great experience!

I could write all day about how good the tour was but it would be to long to read so ill make it brief. I went on both the tour and the paranormal investigation with History and Haunts. I will say I have learned many things and had one of the best experiences I feel can be provided. The tour guide went in to the very detail which held my attention and kept me interested in the topic. One of the main things he said was how you can't understand what happened here at Gettysburg and why with out knowing the history. If I were to give a rating out of 10 stars I would give them a 10, because of how my interest was kept and I learned too. The tour guide always made sure that if someone had a question that it was not a one word answer but an explanation to fully answer there question. 10/10

Has anyone brought younger kids on the History and Haunts tour? Is the tour "scary" on a 10yo scale??
Written June 11, 2018
Hello Kelly, we have had guest that were as young as 7, it is up to the parents. We do ghost hunting. Kids usually are into it. We are with you side-by-side

Hi Stewart,
We took the Sach's Bridge Paranormal investigation with you 2 years ago in October 2015 and loved it.
Once again we will be visiting Gettysburg on Thursday November 2 with 2 more adults, a total of 4, and would love to again take the Paranormal Investigation at Sach's Bridge. On your web site it is offered only on Friday and Saturday.
Would it be possible to schedule this tour with you for 4 adults on Thursday evening, November 2? We are disappointed we would have to book with a competitor in order to be able to get in a paranormal investigation for that visit. R&B from NJ

My travel partner and I are in our mid-60's. What are the physical demands of the tour?
Written January 19, 2015
The physical demands are not strenuous at all! Most of the walking is on pavement, Sach's bridge and flat grassy terrain.
However, one of the spots we were taken to did have railroad tracks. To be on the side of caution, my husband and I brought flashlights. I would highly recommend you do the same.
