We did the 9:30 p.m. East Cemetary Hill Tour last Saturday. Our guide, Mike, was absolutely fantastic, and we enjoyed how well he explained the history behind each location. Even if you are not in ghost tours and all that, I would absolutely recommend participating in this just for the stories. I really cannot say enough good things about the tour and our guide.

I am not really a believer in paranormal stuff, but my girlfriend is, and after this tour, it might have shifted the needle a bit. While going through pictures of our trip Sunday night at home, she discovered something in one of her pictures of the orphanage's backyard. There was a person standing by the open door of the shed in the backyard, and I was positive it was a statue since there are literally statues everywhere in Gettysburg. However, her son was standing about 10 feet away to her right and took a picture while looking at the door around the same time. I went through the pictures as any nonbeliever would try and debunk it, but I can't explain it. Here are the pictures for you to decide. We cannot wait to come back to Gettysburg and take another tour.

My husband and I decided to do a quick trip this weekend for my birthday. I wanted to do a ghost hunt so badly and for my birthday I treated myself and my husband to this experience. It was worth the price and was incredible for a first time ghost hunting experience! We went with Rob who was so fantastic as a tour guide and let us know some information about the places we investigate but not too much so we could experience things for ourselves. There were a few other families / couples, a nice sized group to be able to explore individually and collaborate.

I signed us up for the Xtreme ghost hunt that was 2 locations, 7-10pm. We were NOT disappointed. We got so much out of it. I am a believer and my husband a sceptic but after our experience my husband was a little less sceptic. He loved it as much as I did even doing in with the belief that everything can be explained.

Over all the big take aways from this trip: it was fun and the leader was knowledgeable and so helpful, all the ghost hunting equipment is provided and explained, Rob helps with your investigation, we got a certificate for completing the hunt, the price for $55 a person was worth it, in a few months we will receive a file of our investigation with EVP, audio recordings, photos, videos etc. I can not wait to get that back and I can’t wait to surprise my sister with this trip.

While you might not always get evidence or see/ experience anything it is worth it to check out. You never know who or what you’ll encounter and truly the people made it so much fun. Also, they offer to do private overnight investigations! Worth looking into if you’re into all of this.

i visited gettysburg with my fam at the end of july and it was amazingggg. while out to eat, we got a little map of the city and decided to do a ghost tour because they sounded pretty cool. it was a little pricey so i was worried it wouldn’t be worth it. i saw some of the tour leaders during the day (ours was a 9:30pm) and they just didn’t seem engaging or very entertaining at all. so i was just wasn’t all too excited about it. well, while waiting in line, a very energetic, loud, funny, enthusiastic man pops up. our tour guide. score. he was amazing. he told some great stories and his personality was just all together marvelous. major finn deserves more than just a round of applause he was fantastic and i’m so glad he was our tour guide because in the end, it was SO worth it. thank you major finn and keep up the amazing attitude.

Rob was our guide. He was very kind and attentive. He made sure everyone felt comfortable, understood the equipment and checked in on each group throughout the night. We visited two indoor locations (neither seemed open to the public, but can’t confirm that), possibly because of stormy weather. One was a schoolhouse and one was a house that was built in the late 1700s and used as a field hospital for the Union during the battle at Culp’s Hill.

What we liked: our guide, Rob, the seemingly exclusive locations, every group was given their own bag of equipment (emf, spirit box, rods, two other emf-like detectors of varying sensitivity that either light up or make noise when manipulated and a flashlight).

What we did not like: it felt like too many people, especially for the first location. There were 11 customers (including us). Everyone was very nice, but it was just too many people for indoor locations. One of the couples in the group (again, very nice) brought their own gear and at each location they just kind of took over an entire area. Both times, we never had the chance to investigate the areas that they had set up all their equipment. We could have gone in with them, but their equipment was very loud and very bright and just not the environment we had paid to be in while investigating. It would be better to have people with their own equipment book a private tour, as this definitely took away from our experience as amateurs. Next time we go, we likely will check with the tour company to find out if customers are allowed to bring their own equipment on group tours and if so, we would choose another company.

We did enjoy Rob and the locations might have been really cool, even with the same number of people, if everyone had just used the equipment provided and moved throughout the locations like the rest of the customers did with the least disruption to other groups as possible. I can’t imagine there will be much ability to catch any EVP’s with all the noise that was happening and echoing through the locations. We didn’t even both taking photos because of all the flashing lights near wherever they had set up.

Overall, it was an ok experience with a nice guide and interesting locations.

Okay… but not as advertised. Booked the 1 hour East Cemetery Hill tour, Which their website says it is the Jennie Wade house, the orphanage, and three local cemeteries
I booked this tour for Halloween night at 8PM. The tour guide, Rob, it was very good and was in period costume which was a nice touch. Both the Jenny Wade house and the orphanage are right up the street from where the tour begins. It was raining, but that wasn’t a problem and Rob spoke loudly and was easy to understand, he paused when any loud street traffic came by and waited, and walked at an even pace so as not to leave anyone behind. I enjoyed his presentation.
However, we spent the whole time at the Jennie Wade house and the orphanage and never went to any cemeteries. From the backyard of the orphanage Rob pointed out the national cemetery from there. But it was dark so you couldn’t really see anything. And about at that point of the tour of the hour was up.
Expected to actually walk through three local cemeteries.
So if you’re looking to visit cemeteries I can’t recommend this tour. For the total cost of $16 it was OK, but a bit disappointing.

Were in the E. Cemetery Hill tour 10/14/24, had dark haired small lady. HORRIBLE guide. She was almost incoherent and the group was uncomfortable and bored, not knowing what she was even talking about most of the tour. Stories were not period appropriate or specific to the location. She was interest in talking about herself and even that was disengaging and just plain weird. She produced a map of the dead cloth in the Conoco parking lot and prattled on about her own home and that she sees ghosts all the time - and pointed out her location of where she lives. The whole entire thing was very “nothing up my sleeve” carnival duping weirdness. I thought she could’ve been drunk from the constant long pauses between words but then some of her words weren’t even in the correct order. After the scrap between her and another male guide from the same company we were ready for it just to be over. Been on many tours from various companies in G-burg. This was a waste of our time and money. Sorry.

The group I was with was misinformed. The web site says you will be going into buildings, walking down long hallways and stuff like that. We did not enter one building. The entire tour was just walking from one building to another and being told a story about that particular building during the civil war and how it is haunted. If we knew we weren’t going in to any of the buildings we would have never participated. That all being said, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and well spoken. Also very passionate about the stories and history of Gettysburg.

Thank you for the compliment on our knowledgeable, passionate tour guide. As far as us misinforming… I’m afraid there’s some misunderstanding on your part. We are very clear in our advertising that our walk-in tours are completely outdoors, going past the historic and haunted building s and sites. The indoor venues are the investigations. Two entirely different offerings. it sounds like you were hoping to do one of the investigations. We would love for you to come back and join us for one of those. Please get in touch with us so we can do some type of an offer for you to do that. We hope to, hear from you soon.

We were disappointed because our guide did not tell any ghost stories. We also stood in a parking lot for quite a while with busy traffic driving by, which made it difficult to hear what the guide was saying. I've been on other ghost tours and was looking forward to hearing actual ghost stories for our grandchildren to enjoy. The guide was informative about the battle but that was not the purpose of the tour. Also, once you pay on-line, you receive an e-mail confirming your tour. However, the e-mail confirmation page did not indicate that we had to pick up tickets or where to do so. I only found out that information when I called to change our tour time. The woman I spoke to was very friendly and offered to change our tour time for a "rebooking fee" which was never collected when we picked up our tickets.

We did the "Battlecry" tour which amounted to walking up the street about two blocks and back again. We did not go inside any buildings. We just stood outside of about two restaurants and two sketchy motels. Our poor tour guide (older lady) seemed very out of breath the whole time and was a bit difficult to hear. Plus the group was too large - maybe 30 people? So if you want to spend $14 pp to walk 2 blocks, stand out in front of a restaurant peering in while people eat their dinner or listen to the rantings of a drunk guy sitting outside his sketchy motel room, then this is for you. I really don't like leaving 'meh' reviews, but I think people should know what to expect.

My partner and I went on the "Battlecry" tour, as he is a huge fan of both history and scary stories. Throughout the day (before we went on the tour) we were able to see the battlefield itself, as well as many places around Gettysburg. We came into this experience hoping to learn more about the town and see sights that would otherwise be missed by us.

While we appreciate the premise, we felt that our tour guide was rushed, unenthusiastic, and ultimately most of the stories she told on the tour:

1) Had nothing to do with the battlefield (as we assumed they would since this is called the "Battlecry" tour)
2) Did not take us anywhere but storefronts and parking lots that we had already seen
3) Were told in a rushed and uninformative manner

Again, we appreciate the idea behind the tour, but felt it was falsely advertised as a "Battlecry" tour, given it felt like we did not focus on anything battlefield related. We understand that the park itself is closed at night, but then why advertise it as a "battlecry" tour? We appreciate the opportunity to hear some of the stories, but we were overall disappointed.
