We purchased a ticket to have a tour of the historic battlefield sights. Our tour Guide, Dean Harry, was absolutely professional incredibly intelligent, and over the top informative. He was so pationate about the History of Gettysburg and the Civil War it blew our minds. It was as if he had lived there during the war and lived to talk... More

Took 3 hour private tour for two of us with Fred Wieners. You call for a tour and they assign the tour guide. We got lucky getting Fred. We had a detailed complete tour of the battlegrounds that really put the entire battle into perspective. Fred was very knowledgeable and friendly and witty. He is ex-military and a retired military... More

We booked a tour with Guide Rob Abbott over the phone and felt very lucky that we ended up with this very knowledgeable and personable guide. I'm sure all the guides are good (it takes a lot of training to earn the license) but I can't imagine a better tour leader than him. Rob recommended the 3 hour tour as... More

We went with the option of a licenced guide in our car rather than taking the bus tour as there was only $5 difference in the price. The guide was very knowledgeable and the tour was very interesting but it was a little too intense for me. My husband who is the American Civil War buff enjoyed it.

I had heard about the private tours offered by Licensed Battlefield Guides via a travel website for families, and it exceeded all of my expectations. I reserved a tour in advance, and received a call back from our guide and he answered questions, gave me his personal cell phone number, and explained where to meet. This was a private tour... More

Bill Trelease was our licensed battlefield guide. We booked him for three hours, but as we went along he asked "you don't mind if we go a little over, do you?", so our tour ended up being four hours. Bill offered to drive our car so we could look and listen. He was extremely knowledgeable, and very personable. He explained... More

We had read about this tour on Trip Advisor while researching for our Gettysburg stay. I booked our guide, Howie Frankenfield, about a month ahead of our stay. Upon arriving to the park, we found Howie easily and embarked on our tour. He is very knowledgeable of the history of the area and the battlefield. He drove us from site... More

This is the second time I have taken this tour (previously in 1999) and was as impressed with it so much I will go again. I took my oldest two grandchildren , 9 and 11 on this tour and we all loved it. Made reservations(on line Gettysburg Foundation.org or by phone 877-874-2478) in advance for the guide who drives your... More

We took the 2.5 hour bus tour from the Visitor's Center. Our Battlefield Guide was such a wealth of knowledge. He's been doing it for 10 years. You will get a great overall picture and understanding of the 3-day Gettysburg Battle. If you ever watched the Penna. Cable Network (PCN) Gettysburg field tours given by one of the Licensed Battlefield... More
