History comes to life at Confederate Trails. We now offer featured rides with living historians in period dress who will tell you what life was like during the time of the Civil War. For those who love in-depth history, the Licensed Battlefield Guide is the only way to go. The battlefield story unfolds as you ride right where the soldiers were - experiencing the power of this important time in our nation's history from the center of the battlefield itself. Horse lovers and historians alike will enjoy this ride. Our horses have all been awarded healthy horse certification by a premier Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. The horses are very friendly and mild mannered. We look forward to riding with you.

What a great experience we had yesterday. The guide, Eric, was beyond well informed and gave some GRET stories about the Battle of Gettysburg! The girls who guided the horses were beyond helpful and friendly... the excursion was well worth it! Highly recommend this to anyone visiting!

The guide was very well-informed and funny so our trip was very enjoyable. I got the sense, however, that he has done it so many times that when you asked questions he got kind of fuddled. It would have been nice if it wasn't so canned.

Learned more about the Battle of Gettysburg while on site than I anticipated. Being on Horseback riding through the field and woods, our host tells the story masterfully! Two hours passed by pretty quickly. Creig Williard

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, even giving us each a bottle of water for the ride on the hot August day. The ride was great with a variety of wooded trails and open fields. The guided audio was interesting and kept pace with the ride.

The horses were very gentle. The tour guide was very good. Great way to see the battle field and it's terrain and how it affected the decisions made during the battles.

First experience of Gettysburg. The tour guides/horse handlers were great. I loved that they incorporated where we were from into the history. It was a very hot/humid day and they offered waters before we started. Very informative with a good sense of humor.

Planned this as part of a complete gettysburg birthday weekend for my history buff husband and myself. Of course it was hot... it's August in PA, but the experience was worth the heat. Amazing way to immerse yourself in the civil war from the General Lee's perspective. Wonderful staff amd beautiful horses! Highly recommended to all!

My husband and I loved our tour of the battle field. Our licensed guide was knowledgable and pointed out the monuments from states where people in the tour were from. The staff was helpful both at check in and during the ride. We were grateful we were able to rese dual our ride to the next day since our 2... More

Well organized, friendly and we learned a bunch. Having the earpiece allowed everyone to hear the battlefield guide and the time went by so quickly! A suggestion to the company - having some sort of battlefield map on the website so that a rider could place the ride within context of the battle would have been great - it was... More
