Nice little experience
Aug 2021 • Friends
Took the wife for a day trip, she loves animals. Nice little farm in Gettysburg where you can interact with mini horses and other animals. There are also goats, a camel, and pigs. Admission is $10.00 , great price. You can also buy feed cups to feed the animals roaming about. So cute to see mini horses coming up to you. They also have shows you can watch if you want to. Would come here again, the wife would come once a Month if she could.

A fun experience for children
Aug 2021
Visited 8/8/21 Had a great time with 2 year old grandson. He loved he little horses & goats that were wandering around the area freely. It is a great place to take a toddler. Older children past 4th grade might find it less interesting. The price was extremely fair for admission. We took the tractor ride along a dusty path around the park. We skipped the train ride. We especially liked the opportunity to pet the animals. A few more hand washing stations would be nice though. Highly recommend LLH to parents and grandparents with young children/grandchildren.

We could have stayed here all day! Not only was it fun for the young ones but also our teen and us! When you walk in and see the animals roaming out in the open lifts you up. The shoes are adorable and there is so much to do for the young ones! Great price as well!!

If you know what to expect, you'll enjoy yourself.
Jul 2021
I would give it a 3.5 if I could. I want to rate it higher, honestly, but we didn't check the schedule and missed all the shows. If we had seen them, my rating may be different.

We were in the area and I was VERY excited to go with a friend and our kids (age 10). Since our children were older (and too tall for pony rides), we did the general admission, feeding cup, and wagon ride ONLY. That put us at $17.50 for the kids. If you do everything, it did seem a little pricey.

From first glance, it is DEFINITELY aged and needs some updating or just general up-keeping. We were greeted by little horse friends immediately wanting some treats, which was cute. In the central area, each pen holds one horse. You can walk through a couple barns where horses are in stalls (we saw some cute babies, which was neat!). You can find two areas to feed goats, which don't seem to always stay where they are supposed to! A few were loose and roamed around with the horses. A couple donkeys (I felt a little bad for them since they're tucked in back and seemed to want lots of attention!) and two emus round out the animals (they are on the back path to the wagon ride/gemming area). The animals are all friendly and definitely want food from you - although in the petting zoo/feeing area, be prepared to be swarmed! Overall, the animals seemed cared for.

I was a bit disappointed at first but the place grew on me after a while as I adjusted what I wanted to get out of the visit. Our kids loved feeding and spending time with the animals. The wagon ride was alright. You go around a field and through the woods. The bit of a show we caught (right before we left) was good but we were disappointed that we didn't check the schedule ahead of time (although the schedule online did not match the one we got when we arrived). Seems they do their shows in the morning (10:30-12:30) and then in the afternoon (2:30-4:30). We came right in the middle and the kids were ready to go by the time the afternoon shows rolled around.

Cafe food was fine - we got a hot dog and personal pizza. Prices seemed reasonable to me. Lots of staff in there and they seemed to have things organized. Other staff we came across weren't all friendly but most were. Ice cream shop was not open. Never saw a place for unicorn pictures. The 'train' we saw is a little thing that goes around the main grounds. You're not seeing anything you can't see by walking but if your kid likes little rides, I'm sure they'd think it's fun. Honestly seems like it's only good for tiny people.

We did not even bother to check out items at the gift shop. We moved quickly right on through!

Would I recommend going? Yes, just know what to expect. I can imagine younger children loving it for the animals and not worrying so much about the updating the place needs. Definitely make sure to check the schedule before you come - even call maybe to ensure it matches the website - so you can see the shows.

After reading about Land of Little Horses, We made a plan to take our grandchildren on a visit. Stayed 4 hours with a break in between for lunch, as was the suggestion on the website. I cannot think of an place more special, educational, and just plain fun.

The shows conducted by the ring master extraordinaire, Ms Cindy, were very entertaining for children (of all ages). She adds interesting details about the particular animal, and her methods for training them. All of the animals are content, healthy, and trained in a humane manner. The costumes, and props are in good repair and the entire farm is clean and well-maintained.

Our grandchildren were charmed by the signature event! I cannot remember when children were not manipulated by questionable “characters,” but this was pure and magical without being too heavy-handed.

All the workers at the farm, including many young people on school break, were polite, kind and hard-working. A special thank you to the nice lady at the register of the well-stocked toy store we visited at the end of our day. Our granddaughter just couldn’t decide between two beautiful stuffed horses, and she helped with more patience than Job! We purchased from them because the small mementoes chosen by each child will help them remember the beauty and wonder they experienced at The Land if Little Horses.

A last note about the “expense” mentioned by others. In these times, many small businesses have had to close due to lack of good help, and other many factors. The cost of raising many small horses, plus goats, ponies, and pigs, llamas, dogs, etc, plus the many other buildings they have to see and visit, all making up part of this beautiful farm must be huge! The purpose being to educate and entertain children of all ages (like me at age 60+), in a safe and clean environment. The value we got with our grandchildren was worth every penny. For others who don’t want “all the bells and whistles”, $10 basic admission is not at all out of line. This experience is special, so save your money like you might for more expensive venues, of which we all know the names and places.

I will visit again, and recommend to all our friends. Many thanks Ms Cindy and all your staff!

Be Prepared it's not cheap
Jul 2021
First of all let me say that the staff is really nice and that my 4 year old daughter had a great time.

However I do not understand the reviews that say it's priced reasonably or in great condition.

The $25 ticket gets you
- Admission
- Feed
- A 2 minute Pony Ride
- A 5 minute "train" ride
- Mining for gems
- A wagon ride (we skipped it bc I wasn't paying $5 to go on it with her)

Want your picture with the unicorn (what little girl doesn't?) $5.

But the worst part is you enter and exit through the gift shop which has some of the highest priced toys you have ever seen. A plastic horse (not 100% sure it was plastic it was in a box) was $50.99 - I am not making that up $50.99!!!

You can tell they are trying to put some money in the place for better upkeep, I believe the train is fairly new and they said they had just gotten a new mining area as well. But in general I found it to be pretty run down.

I would probably take her back but, I was very happy I didn't bring my other 3 older children as it would have been a waste of money and they would have been bored.

So in summary if your child is between 3-7 and you can say no in the gift shop then it's worth it but, outside of that probably shouldn't be on the list.

Big bang for the buck
Jun 2021 • Family
I took my kids here today as a birthday surprise. It was wonderful. Budget-friendly, even with lunch, some add on experiences, and souvenirs, it was less than $100 for three people, and that is a deal you just don't find anymore. The shows were enjoyable, the petting zoo fun. The kids loved being able to feed the animals and its a pretty drive over to it. Highly recommmended.

Family fun!

Had a wonderful time yesterday with my three grandsons ages 4, 5 and 9. They loved everything about it--feeding the animals, the pig races and the entertaining shows where the horses performed. Everything was clean, beautifully maintained. The kids can't wait to go back again.
