We ventured out to the Turtle Back Zoo for the opening weekend of the Holiday Lights when it was unseasonably warm (57 degrees) and extremely crowded! Despite the crowds, we were able to enjoy the Reptile House, Touch Me Tank, Sea Lion feeding (@6pm and...More

We were completely impressed and entertained at the Zoo. Incredibly beautiful, amazing quantity and variety of animals and habitats, and impeccably clean and well maintained. Who knew right here in Essex County! Looking forward to visiting in December for the Holiday Light Show.

Love turtle back zoo...it’s not too big but not too small either. The little train ride was my 2 year olds absolute favorite!

This zoo is not huge but not small. It has everything to offer and is extremely well organized. We had a wonderful time and will go back again when in New Jersey.

This zoo started out very small and over the years, added more and more activities than you can imagine. They built a fortress in the trees, enlarged the entire property to include a restaurant, lake with swan rides and a fabulous Pirate Playground- out of...More

I visited the zoo on a lovely day in October, and it was enjoyable to wander the meandering paths seeing both rare and common animals. I did feel sorry for some of the animals in small cages with very small watering holes and without adequate...More

Great place for company party for employees and their family. Many animals to see and trails to walk, sufficient parking and great entertainment by night.

Many animals will be outside and not much area inside for visitors. Will be chilly, but if you don’t mind the cold, go and enjoy! You can easily cover everything in two hours.
