Turtle back zoo

Great place for kids and adults. So much to see and do. Not only do you the animals but you have playgrounds and picnic areas.

We visited the Zoo today with my daughter & two grandchildren. It has been at least 20 years since we last visited here & WOW, what a difference. If you like quality vs. quantity you will love this place. They have plenty of free parking and the whole facility appears to have been renovated within the past few years. The... More

We love this zoo. We have a yearly family membership and visit at least once a month. The park is clean the animals are close and well cared for. They just opened an African safari and a new cafe. Fun for all

We went with my one year old grandson. Perfect place for young kids. Enough to do for a few hours. He loved the petting zoo. I loved the new giraffe exhibit. Definitely a great day trip.

Don't let the fact that is it small fool you. This zoo has had tons of upgrades over the years including the new giraffes area. The train ride is a must and the facility is always clean. The staff is always willing to help in any way and they have many different types of animals. Go early on weekends because... More

I am delighted to say that The Turtleback Zoo has improved dramatically over the last several years. Great animal exhibits, including the brand new, beautiful giraffe exhibit, a gibbon exhibit, a touch tank, a parakeet aviary, a butterfly house, wolves, bears, etc. The grounds are well maintained and easy to navigate although it is a bit hilly. The train ride... More

Compared to other zoos I've been to (Cleveland, Toledo), Turtle Back is quite a bit smaller, and a welcome change with a toddler in tow. We spent about 2 hours and we're able to cover nearly every exhibit. The petting zoo was nice, and very we'll maintained. Overall, Turtle Back zoo was the perfect size for an easy afternoon.

After reading all the reviews I was picturing a very tiny zoo that I would be in and out of quickly. That wasn't the case. It definitely wasn't large like the Bronx Zoo but it wasn't tiny either. For me it was just right. My 11 year old daughter and I walked around and she was able to get up... More

Loved spending the day at turtleback zoo! It is very hilly so pushing the stroller got a little hectic but the animals were all so wonderful! Our favorites were the butterfly tent the wolves and the Bears! My daughter got her face painted which was adorable and we even ate at the restaurant for lunch. They had healthy selections which... We spent a few hours here with a tween who enjoyed it. This zoo is probably better suited to younger kids. Parking lot and deck very convenient right across the street. One main restaurant and gift shop, which I appreciate vs. larger zoos where there are kiosks set up throughout the zoo where your kids beg you for overpriced stuff!... More
