About Philly Food Adventures
Private and Group Tours of Chinatown. As the editor of Midtown Lunch Philadelphia, Jamie navigates the Philadelphia food scene like a chef maneuvering through a kitchen. For many years, she has aimed her quill-and her palate-at Philly's ethnic food scene, scouting out the most authentic foods from various culinary traditions. As a long-time consumer and curator of Chinese food, her passion has led her to explore the Chinese cuisine in Philadelphia, New York, and even China. Within a three-block radius of Philadelphia's Chinatown, you can find an array of foods that originated in various far-flung regions of China. Follow Jamie around the neighborhood as we savor the flavors of Philadelphia's Chinatown, snacking on things like garlic wontons, chopped-to-order roast duck, and green tea bubble waffles. Tours last approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours and we will make about 5 different stops. All food is included in the price of tour. Even monster appetites won't leave hungry. A Chinese market tour is optional at the end of our trip.

I live outside of Philly just 30 min and do come down in the city frequently to go out. However, I always forget about Chinatown! Also, since I don't know enough about the area I tend to skip over it. I was brainstorming for my 30th to do something different with my family and friends and stumbled upon this food tour and was soooo gooood. Jamie was a great tour guide and showed us all the best places to go to and even familiarized us with some food items so next time we order Chinese we know what to order. She also provided some history about the area as well which was interesting to hear.

I was born and raised in Philadelphia and have had many meals in Chinatown. Jamie introduced me to places I had never been and dishes I had never tried. We had such a wonderful time learning more about Chinatown and enjoying the delicious food at each location. Jamie's tours are a fun and delicious way to experience a unique part of Philadelphia - highly recommend!

So, I’ve never been to Chinatown but I’m glad that my first time was with Jamie! Not only did she show us the secret gems, but also informed us about the history along the way. If you’re ever looking for something new and fun to do, definitely look into booking a food tour with Jamie!!

Jamie's tours are a great way to see a unique part of Philadelphia, try foods and restaurants that you didn't know about before, and get off the beaten path for a while. The tour only covers a few blocks so not a ton of walking required. She knows her stuff and can give you solid recommendations all throughout Philly. I loved the visit to an Asian grocery store at the end, where she helped us navigate the candy and tea aisles!
