The Commodore Barry Statue is a beautiful right behind Liberty Square. Instead of spoiling the spot, I recommend a quick google search on why he is there. Great spot for Selfie Time

While walking around historical districts in Philadelphia, there is a lot of impressive statuary and sculpture to gaze up at. Most people, of course, want selfies at the Rocky Statue, but there is no reason to deprive yourself of good outdoor art work like this.

It's kind of a cool and symbolic fact. Our Independence (Hall) is backed by the Navy. Barry, rightfully, is the most common name for U.S. destroyers.

The statue of Commodore John Barry stands outside Independence Hall, overlooking the square connected to it. It is excellently sculpted, and very imposing.
