Spend the day hiking the trails and enjoying one of the largest city parks in the country...and be sure to find the Indian statue!

Super clean and well maintained. The park was bigger than I expected it to be, but you can loop the whole trail in an hour/maybe two if you wanted. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for some outdoor experiences within the city.

Hiked through here several times. Every time I discover a new trail. Lots of hills and rocky terrain, so you can get a good workout. My favorite hill is the one near Bell Mills Rd and Forbidden Drive. If you just want a casual stroll...More

This is a very popular place all year round, but a wonderful place to walk during the hot days of summer as it is almost entirely shaded. That said, more parking is needed at Northwestern Ave and at other entrances.

There is a lovely bike pedestrian paved trail which parallels the creek. There is abundant wildlife like fish and snakes in the stream area and an occasional heron.

Went for a hike with family. It was raining and we wanted to get out of the house and didn't care if we got alittle wet. We had a blast and walked about 4 miles instead of vegging in front of the TV. The trails...More

I was introduced to Forbidden Trail by my daughter, who visits often. We have gone together several times and I always see something new each time that I missed the last. I can't wait to see the fall colors on the water.

biking on forbidden drive is very nice. If you are into mountain biking there are off road trails. Lots of. hiking trails where you feel you are in the woods and no longer in the city!!

The locals call the beautiful section of Philly "Valley Green". The name fits perfectly. It's located inside a low laying park surrounded by lush greens and water. There are jogging trails, bike paths, hiking and whatever else that may interest you. Pack a lunch. Stop...More

If we lived closer, we'd be her more often. Wissahickon is a great park for getting outside and moving about. Meetup groups use it as a destination spot for hikes, you can run, hike, and bike on the trails.
