This was the best cure for all ails. Different types of bikes, nice breeze and felt energized doing this ride. Next time i am bringing a bag to do my part in cleaning up trash. While it is along a main street, it is not noisy, is very peaceful and people are so nice. I wish I could do this ride every morning!

This is a great walking trail along the river. Many people using it. Bikes, joggers, dog walkers, and walkers like me. Seemed very safe. There are some people living in tents under the bridges, but they kept to themselves. I did get far away from my hotel's location and had to use my iPhone app to find my way back. The river trail is lower than the streets level....

The Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk is an awesome spot to walk and see the Philly skyline!!! There's a really nice dog park and sitting area on the north end and the boardwalk is wide and well maintained.

My wife and I are visiting our daughter in Chester Springs, PA for Thanksgiving, very near to the Pawlings Road trailhead. We parked and started at the Pawlings Road trailhead and walked toward the Schuylkill River starting at about 6:30 am on Thanksgiving day. Picture from the start of the trail back toward the parking lot is attached. A picture of the sign with map at the trailhead is also attached.

Even though it rained overnight, the sun came out for part of our walk and it was very pleasant, eventhough the start of the trail from Pawlings Road is along a busy highway (422 I think) most of our walk was through heavily wooded areas and by streams.
There was also another parking area with restroom facilities we walked by near where the trail crosses under 422. Based on the trail map there are several other restrooms spaced out along the trail.
The trail passes through a portion of the Valley Forge National Historical park.
We saw several deer slong the trail during our walk.
We only saw a few other walkers/ joggers and only a couple of people on bicycles.

A little crowded due to its popularity but still a great opportunity to move and enjoy the varied sights. This is designed to offer something for everyone including restrooms in precovid times.

Take a long walk along the working river and discover the old industrial waterfront. Not especially pretty but certainly historic and a very good hike.

This is a beautiful paved well-maintained path made with out-door activities in mind. Always filled with the more serious bike riders who love the longer uninterrupted trails.

Wether you bike, hike, run, walk or just have the camera out for some great photos of Philadelphia; the river trail provides its all. for you, the family...even your four-legged friends. I use the tail to walk my pup and get a great run in. You can enjoy sights from South Street, to the Art Museum...and further to surrounding communities. It's well lit, plenty of off-ramps to get to any part of the city, and lots of benches to sit and relax. The trail splits Center City from University City in Philly...and a "must walk" when you visit.

We walked along the trail just off the Philly Art Museum. It was a great way to kill time on a Sunday afternoon. The trail winds along, and we watched rowers from the local school practice. There are a few bar/restaurants along the way.

My husband and I enjoyed a long leisurely walk along the entire trail. There are several things to see along the way such as statues, the river, and benches to sit on and simply relax along the way.
