Take a Free and Friendly walking tour with us! It’s free, which means you tip us what you want. It’s friendly because we’re friendly folks. And it’s Philadelphia because we love it and want you to love it too. We’re a Philly company and we’ll show you the whole Philadelphia – or the whole of what’s in walking distance. We lend our friendship freely and we’ll gladly recommend a place to go out after the tour.

Wonderful walking tour. Tour guild was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was good revisiting early formation of the country. Interesting how all three branches of government were located together in independence square

I had just few hours to visit Philadelphia for the first time in my life. Even if I'm Italian and I don't know well the American history, Mark, our guide, was really good at explaining things using a clear language and capturing my attention. He seemed very competent and passionate. I liked also the informal approach of this tour. I... More

Went with my sister to Philadelphia for the first time. Our first tour with another company fell through and decided to give this tour a try. Our guide, Mark, was extremely knowledgeable and fun, it was a great laid- back tour with a lot of things covered in a short while. Thanks Free and Friendly Tours!

The tour was fantastic. Mark is a great guide and has a wonderful sense of humor. It is obvious that he loves what he does! We had a wonderful time and heard quite a few little known facts about Ben Franklin. The tour is free which is great. (We did tip Mark at the end of the tour)

As a Philly native, I'm always looking for fun ways to introduce out of town guests to Philly history. I took two friends from New York on the Colonial Cheesesteak tour, and we all had a great time. Our guide, Mark, was enthusiastic, funny, and friendly. Even I learned something, and my friends enjoyed getting a relaxed introduction to Old... More

Thanksgiving weekend we took the Benjamin Franklin tour with our 10 year old son. Mark, our guide, was terrific. The tour was very entertaining and informative. In addition to the extremely interesting historical content, Mark had great advice about things to do in Philadelphia beyond the tour. We highly recommend Free and Friendly to anyone visiting Philadelphia!

We took the Cheesesteak Tour which was more about Ben Franklin that it was about Cow on Fermented Cow Juice Sandwiches. Our thoughts on the tour are perfectly summarized by the recent rating and review of user BobCatP: "The owner, Mark, was our tour guide for what turned out to be a semi-private tour. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic.... More

My husband and I took the 'Dark Side of History' Free and Friendly tour as recommended. Our tour guide was Mark, an excellent guide whom we had before on a tour. We learned many things that you don't usually hear about in history and you would have to do some digging for the info, but Mark made it easily available,... More
