Directly across from the parking under the Independence Visiter Center is the house where George Washington lived after leaving office. It's free and open air with movies of actors portraying historical figures. Definitely check it out .

The President's House is an outdoor exhibit open 24/7 documenting slavery in the United States, and the many controversies surrounding it. It's a small installation, and appears to be what you do while you're waiting for your turn in the Liberty Bell Center.

This exhibit was the most moving and meaningful for me. The slaves who lived in Washington's house yearned for freedom and to own themselves, and exercise free will. Several plotted running away, which was as courageous, if not more, than any act by those opposed...More

An open air 'house' with openings where you can see the archeological foundations of the original house. Neat history for the history of the occupants of the long gone house, but also neat to see how archeology works in our lives to teach us!

All it is is some foundation underground looked at from above ground. They have a lame mock up of some walls and windows and some historical information but that's it. It's right by the Liberty Bell and Independence Visitor's Centre so it's hard to avoid...More

This place is dedicated to the enslaved Africans who lived and worked at the house during Washington's presidency. The exhibit should not be promoted as "The Presidents House" but instead it should clearly state that it is a tribute to slave labor. I suggest you...More

Location of the exhibit is the president's house where Washington lived; however, the exhibit was all about slavery. Both are important historical topics, but the exhibit is an informative narrative on slavery which used the President's house as a prop in that narrative. I'm sure...More

It is not much to see, but it's still impressive when you thinks of the history. Sometimes less is more.

You can examine the exposed foundation of the original presidential house that was located here. In parallel, the subject of slavery in America is described on exhibit signage. Honestly not much to see here beyond the signage.

This won't be PC, but this is little more than a monument to modern bitterness that George and Martha Washington in 1776 were not perfect. Slavery was an evil thing and it's good that it's gone but society and its morality improve but incrementally and...More
