We don't get there nearly as often now that we live out of state, but still enjoy going. There are a few shops we always visit: spice corner, dangelos meats, Claudio's, and talluto's. Today we added a new place - a fish market located at...More

It's sad to see what is left of a once vibrant and proud neighborhood. True, there are still some great stores such as Di Bruno Brothers. But the artisan and family ambiance of the neighborhood is dying. The market now is more of a tourist...More

Sad to see this once vibrant market fading away. There are still a couple core businesses but the rest is junk. I think the biggest problem is the attitude of the customers.

Very few shops were open during winter, so my advice would be: If you visit in winter, don't bother.

Yes, the Italian Market can be a bit off-putting. It isn't the best swept, and it sometimes smells, but the food is the best. Depending upon the time of day that you go, it's either a dessert with little or nothing on view to an...More

If you don't mind trash and rat infested street side markets. Enjoy yourself?!? 9th Street is a disgrace to what was once a great city in America. There were a few remnants of the Italian merchants fighting for existence. The pastries I purchased at Isgros'...More

I don't believe how many times I've been to Philly and never knew about the Italian Market here. The bargains were amazing!! Great variety of vendors too. A stop to this area is a permanent must-do on my trips to Philly now

Second time here. Shop for italian meats, dried pasta, pizelles and kitchen items here. Fantes is a great place to shop for the kitchen/bakery specialty items and there is a variety of places to shop for food. A spice shop and olive oil/balsamic vinegar store...More

Over the years it has become cheesy in spots. No pun intended. If you stop in the right shops you will find some of the finest examples of italian meats, cheeses, olives, breads and unusual delicacies you can find in very few other places. If...More

This real market isn't fancy. Buy from street vendors selling produce. Visit the stores that have been serving customers for 50, 60 or more years. It's a fun stroll but bring cash since many vendors don't take credit. The places cater to regulars and make...More

Yes, that's the one! The market is still there! Rocky (the statue) is not far away (like 15-minute ride) - near the Philadelphia Art Museum.
