The oldest church in Pennsylvania, though designed simply, has a wealth of detail, like the ship suspended from the ceiling or the silver crown in the vestry which every woman married in this church must don.

We took in this church as part of a two hour walk of Penns Landing. Beautiful, serene church with an upstairs gallery. A font brought from Sweden in the 1800's. The woodwork is painted white adding to the overall beauty and simplicity of the church

Old Swede's Church is unique. It was built on the site of Fort Christina when the area was New Sweden. Inside the church, suspended from the ceiling are models of the ships that transported early Swedish settlers to North America.
