We walked by the Rittenhouse Square at the night fall. The square wasn't too crowded but there was a many people enjoying it. It seem like a great spot to walk in and lost the track of time.

This is a beautiful area in Center City---a bit pricey for drinks and food but a nice, upscale and calm neighborhood to simply walk through the park and enjoy the people.

I have stayed at the Sofitel several times and have been satisfied. This does not overlook the square, but is a short walk.
