About
Yards Brewing Company has been proudly brewing in the City of Brotherly Love since 1994. We’ve grown from a garage-sized operation in the Manayunk section of Philly to Roxborough, Kensington, Northern Liberties, and now to our newest location - a 70,000 square foot brewery and taproom - at 500 Spring Garden Street. Philadelphia Pale Ale and Brawler, both nationally recognized ales, lead a balanced portfolio of quality, handcrafted beers including eight year-round offerings and several seasonal and limited releases. Founder, Tom Kehoe, and the Yards Crew share a commitment to supporting the good people and organizations making their backyard a better place to live and work. Here at Yards, it's always been about working hard, having fun and giving back. The Brew Unto Others motto reflects our commitment to quality, community and sustainability. It's also a call-to-action. We encourage you to get together, to enjoy our beer, each other's company and to Brew Unto Others every day.

- WanderPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania199 contributionsNote to myself and others: don’t get the nachosI come to Yards fairly often and love the beer and most of the food options I have had the pleasure to try. But today I had something I was not happy with at all. The nachos are not good at all. Half the chips don’t have anything on them and the toppings on them are not nearly enough to warrant $15. I won’t be ordering again. The wings I tried after were very good. The nachos experience won’t stop me from returning to Yards, but I certainly won’t be getting them again.Visited December 2023Traveled with friendsWritten December 18, 2023
- Caleb M1 contributionGluten friendly beers, great energy.Yards continues to be one of the places I always prioritize coming back to when I visit family or friends in Philadelphia. As someone who is sensitive to gluten I am very appreciative that they use a strong filtration process in many of their beers that makes them accessible to me. The large interior space also feels similar to a German beer hall and the energy of the crowd is always exceptional for Philly sports events.Visited December 2023Traveled with friendsWritten January 16, 2024
- OpalandLarryCambridge, Maryland34 contributionsGood beer and burgersIn town from Maryland visiting for the day. Came in for lunch and a tour on a Sunday. No wait to be seated and service was quick. They have lots of taps! Had a Philly Pale Ale and a Philly Standard. Both were very nice. Ordered the Brunch Burger. Oh my what a treat that is. Scrumptious. Before leaving I took the tour. The tour guide, Mike, was entertaining. They give you a beer to drink during the tour. The total tour time was an hour, but 50 minutes of that is Mike talking. The actual tour area is fairly small. If I am ever back this way again I would definitely stop in for a drink and bite to eat.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 23, 2024
- Borenfamx5Trussville, Alabama320 contributionsGood beerWe visited and had a couple beers and the pretzel. It was not that busy. Beer was good. We didn’t go on tour. The area was not a very good area. We walked to from our hotel. The walk there was not bad. When we left there was a lot of people under a nearby underpass. I think the Septra garden street exit was located there. It was pretty rough. We tried to get a bus to leave but being Sunday the bus route was running different times and not arriving when scheduled. We ended up walking about 2 miles down spring garden street to the. Museum of art. We had many homeless people asking for money. It was not a safe area. We should not of been walking it.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 8, 2024

Tasty range of beers and other non beer drinks, loads of seating. Quiet when we went but guess it’s a buzz at weekends!Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 19, 2024

A friend and I saw that they recently opened tours back up at this place so we decided to give it a shot. Our tour guide Mike was fantastic. He was hilarious the whole tour and was really knowledgeable about the process and the brewery itself and was able to answer everyone's questions. Afterward we had lunch at the brewery and everything was great. Can definitely recommend the mac and cheese bites I'm already craving them again.

A return to Philly with wife, daughter, son-in-law and 5 year old grandson. So we did lots of visiting and running around and noted that Yards had opened on Spring Garden Street with a new cool looking spot. So we decided to stop for lunch. So glad we did. We had a great server, Sam, and she was so helpful in recommending beer choices and taking special care of my grandson. We ordered a Greek Salad with Chicken Fingers, a Brawler Burger with Fries, and a Greek Salad with Salmon. The portions were awesome and the food was delicious! The 20 oz beers the three adults ordered included a Philthy, a Love Stout & a Grapefruit Wheat. We loved the choices we made (with Sam’s recommendations)! A great experience that included giving my grandson an inside look at hard seltzer canning - he loved that and also the branded sunglasses we bought him in the gift section like my daughter did the “born and brewed in Philly” shirt! A great time that we highly recommend you try!

I came here on a solo trip and sat at the bar. The bartender Nick gave great suggestions for food and sites to see around the city on foot. The pork sandwich was very tasty and I had the Love Stout and an IPA per recommendation. I will probably be back doing the same trip!

Great time here at Yards Brewing Company.
Stopped by on a Wednesday night while in the downtown area. Was able to find parking nearby on the street, after 6pm is free.
Great vibes and environment throughout the brewery. Large area with lots of tables and bar area to sit. Picnic-style benches throughout most of the main area in the brewery. Large TV screens throughout.
Service was excellent! The server was friendly and efficient. I also loved seeing a constant rotation of staff serving and tending to multiple tables. The "team effort" way of service seemed much more efficient that having a single dedicated server.
I ended up having some wings, (10 for $14) which were great, and a flight of beer ($12). All of the beer samples were very good. There is a wide variety of beer so there is something for everyone.
Great environment there...range of individuals, couples, groups...talking, watching the TVs and lots of chess-players, which was cool.
The space was very clean throughout. Clean bathrooms.
Upstairs sometimes used for private events. There is some outdoor seating as well.
Toward the front, there is a store which sells apparel, mugs, and ofcourse take-home beer. All reasonably priced for a place like this.
Would love to return to try out some more flights and food options...some options sounded delicious but I wasn't in the mood to eat heavy.

This brewery definitely had an open air seating and arrangement. Parking here can be a bit of a challenge, but there is some curbside parking available, and a couple of nearby lots. But, once inside, it is inviting and festive. There is a lot of seating available (both high-top tables, and lower tables), as well as seating at the bar. I really enjoyed the beer here; both a sampler, and a follow-up pint.
The food was also very good. I ordered the fish tacos; they were a bit heavier on the frying side, but they were fresh, and very tasty. My server here was very engaging. Overall, this was a great meal and experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, the place is huge and good thing, because it was hopping. The outside seating was filled and the gigantic lower floor was also filled, we sat upstairs and had a great time.our server was amazing and the beers and pretzel were great.
