We love markets and so this was a must visit for us while in Philadelphia n it didn’t disappoint
The market is a mixture of food for sale from fish to veg to flowers and food retailers. There is a vast choice of food to eat. We toured the whole market first before making our choice which was the Filipino stall in the back left corner. We wanted to try something different and this was certainly new to us. I have to say the beef wasn’t particularly tender, a little chewy which was disappointing but my husband had the pork which was fine. After eating we walked back to the excellent cake stall where there was such an array to chose from we left with more than we probably should have 🤣 but wow were they scrummy!

The surprises of Phila and the Reading Terminal Market
What a great experience and pleasant surprise. A very large variety of foods and food market with lots of ready to eat or RTG take home. Spent a couple minutes too long and got back to the Hilton Parking garage a few minutes late which completely negates the Parking Deal I thought I had. The food is still terrific though. go, you'll like it! And Phila was also a nice surprise being much more civilized and gentrified than it was for my previous life (7 years in University).

    Best find in Philly
What a gem! Vibrant and diverse with so many options for all tastes with emphasis on what it is: proud Philly establishment. For breakfast, pop over to a Dutch Eating counter or grab a bagel or a croissant and have a delicious cafe latte. For lunch, get some delicious Georgian Khachapuri or a Central American street bite or a burger or some cheesesteak. There is a proper Down Home diner as well as a market and a liquor store and a chocolate stall and a delicious looking pastry one. A must visit.

    Phila breakfast
Definitely Pearls it is. Served by a lovely young oriental girl very knowledgeable about the Phila food. I was very happy with my poached eggs with Phila scrapple after her recommendations. Then the Phila pork roll. Maybe New Jersey? It was like home made delicious. Mum’s breakfast cooking. I did also like the OJ. I had 2 glasses.

A Must Do When in Philly
Here three decades ago, before food halls became a thing. Happy to report it hasn't changed at all. Here on a Sunday so I did miss the Amish shops, but otherwise many of the same cast of delicious characters..Carmen's for cheesesteaks, Bassetts for ice cream, Pearl's for oysters. Absolutely a must do if you are touring the town.

Unique, indoor market with multiple food options
It was a fun, unique place to explore. There were a variety of food choices (BBQ, ice cream, diner type places, deli, Indian, Chinese...etc), produce, raw meat, liquor, flowers, candles, herbs and trinkets for sale. The aisles are narrow if you are in a group, and people can get shuffled/lost in the crowd so be sure to have a pre-planned meeting spot if you get separated. Thankfully, the aisles can be easily identified and navigated by street signs hanging from the ceiling.

Oh My ! Food overload, best go hungry!!
Oh My! I strongly advise you go here when you are hungry,,, you won't be for long. a collection of everything, bakery's, ice cream, real food (meals) of all kinds. It's a big, almost overwhelming place, again wait til you're hungry to go there. But definitely do go there and experience it for sure!

    Place to go in Philly
Must visit for food in Philly. So many food options all within reasonable price and tasted great. Be prepared it can be very busy with queues at almost every vender especially around the height of lunch time, but the queues move fast they have systems in place and the food is so worth it. Would definitely recommend.

    Something for everyone
This market is a must if you are in town. They have everything you could need. There are so many restaurants that you can absolutely find something for everyone's taste. There is a seating area in the middle of the market and some vendors have seating at their stand. There are at least two or three places to eat where you can go in and sit down at a table. I really love all the other stands. There are butchers, produce markets, honey, cheese, jerky, seafood, donuts and anything else you may be looking for. Bleiler's donuts are amazing. There are Amish bakeries, a diner and cheese stand. The Amish stands are not open on Sunday. The market gets crowded but worth it. Several of the stands are well known and have been featured on Food network for the food. There is a parking garage directly across from the market. If you purchase anything at the market ask the vendor to validate your parking for a discounted rate. The garage is at 12th and Filbert. You must pay at the kiosk in the garage lobby to get the discounted rate. The market is also located right next to the Convention Center.

Great place with vast amount of food choices
Wow, what an amazing please. visited Philadelphia on a day trip from NYC and this market came up as a must visit. The food choice is vast so there would be something for everyone even the fussiest of people like me. We opted for a Philly cheesesteak so shout out to Spataro. It was amazing, the best thing ever. The only problem is there are so many people and not enough seating so we had to stand up and eat. Definitely worth a visit

The market is open 8am to 6pm 7 days a week but check their listing to hours for individual stands. Sees that a number of shops are closed and quite a few close early. A good bet to pick up something quick to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have shops that sell meats, cheese, bread, pastries, pies, donuts. Also a number of different ethnicities represented and their foods.

It can get very crowded and there is minimal space for sitting. If you are looking for a quite meal this is not the place.

I would specifically recommend : Hershel's East Side Deli (hugh sandwiches include pastrami, turkey, brisket, corn beef, bagels, lox, etc.; and Beiler's Donuts and Salads

Nice food court with produce, vegetable and fruit. There are seating area with plastic divider to prevent covid transmission. IMO, the food is overpriced as well as parking around the Philly. If you buy food at minimum of $10, make sure you have the vendor to validate parking ticket so you will pay $5 up to 2 hours at the parking garage across RTM. I certainly will not go back here. There are other options.

Super busy market. They've got meats, produce, deserts, coffee, and lunches made to order. If you plan to eat here, have one from your group jump on the first open table and hold onto it. Restaurants really crank the food out quickly, though prices are up a few dollars above a similar place outside the market. Worth popping in for a stroll, with great people watching.

I’d go here if you’re looking for food (and quite the variety). We went on a holiday weekend though and it was VERY crowded. Something tells me it is like that every weekend. We had to stand to wait for a table to open up to eat. But overall worth it.

My local Philly friends took me. If you want to try some a little of everything the city offers food wise, come here, It's convenient, stop in while walking around the city to have a snack or lunch and head back out to enjoy the sites. We all got something different and shared.

It’s a great place to kill some time indoors or if no one in your group can agree on what to have for lunch, but it was a bit too much of a walk from Independence Mall for a food court experience. At least most of the restaurant/shops were open, which I cannot say the same for other food court type places during this “season” of Covid. Everyone was wearing masks, but it’s almost impossible to socially distance.

This is such a wonderful indoor market. We went here for breakfast and wish we could've gone for lunch too. It seems that every food under the sun is here--cheeses, special coffees, cheese steaks, po'boys....you name it. There are homemade donuts, hand rolled, and the line goes on and on. On Sunday about half of the vendors aren't there (Pennsylvania Dutch I think) but there's still plenty open. No donuts on Sunday, however, which is why the line's so long on Saturday.

This place is shut down on Sundays so make sure you don't come on Sundays.

When I come here for a meal, my problem is not I can't find anything to eat. My problem becomes what should I eat with only so much room in my stomach -- especially when portion here usually is so large that lasts for two meals for a 5'8'' 160# male who eats sensibly.

A wonderful market from flowers to places to eat and drink. Reading Terminal Market is located at the old train stop. According to the history, it was originally open in 1893 under the train shed and then moved indoor. It is currently is part of the city convention Center with all kinds of goodies that visitors should spend sometime to enjoy the market atmosphere here. It is across the street from the Convention Center and a couple blocks from the City Hall. Great place to spend time during your visit to Philadelphia.

Word of advice: If you go and there is an event at the Philadelphia Convention Center next door, DON'T. You will not like the experience. The first time I entered this place was a midday lunch on a Sunday which also happened to be the first day of an event. It was wall to wall people and it was a challenge to get anywhere, let alone order anything. Put it this way, I'm not sure if it was a fire hazard but it sure seemed like it.
We went the following morning as well as the late afternoon a couple of days later and the atmosphere was a bit more manageable. It was a heck of a lot more pleasant then. The food choices and cuisine were amazing. Want some noodles? Its there. Want some Louisiana gator? Chomp away. Feel like a kebabs and gyros? All that greasy goodness is around. Heck if you want a sugar rush you can get cookies and ice cream from some really good spots. If youre lucky enough to grab a table and chair to eat then great, if not, your best bet is to just take it back to the convention center or your hotel room if you're lucky enough to get one nearby.
It wont get any awards for a gourmet experience but there is something to offer for everyone.
