Loved getting food here as it was only a five minute walk from our hotel. You can get just about anything you want to eat and I would recommend going online first and finding some places that interest you. Then, download the map to see where that place is because this market is huge. There are almost 100 vendors and most of the vendors cook food to order.
A few of the places have a sit down counter but many of the vendors are to go only. Look for the sign or the tiles on the floor for where to line up. Biggest problem is lack of seating. This place is simply too popular to accommodate the crowds. We were fortunate enough to take our food back to a close by hotel room but they really need to add an area with additional seating.
Market is open 8 to 6 daily but many of the vendors are closed on Sunday, so go on a different day if possible. Because about 30 to 40% of the vendors are closed on Sunday, this causes long lines for the remaining open vendors.

This place is shut down on Sundays so make sure you don't come on Sundays.
When I come here for a meal, my problem is not I can't find anything to eat. My problem becomes what should I eat with only so much room in my stomach -- especially when portion here usually is so large that lasts for two meals for a 5'8'' 160# male who eats sensibly.

What an amazing place. Food to eat, food to purchase (butchers, grocers) and all sorts of snacks, spices and more.
Recently, we’ve visited food markets in LA, NY, DC and Toronto. All were good - but Reading Terminal beats them all hands down for sheer choice and scale.
Wonderful food in a great location.

The market is open 8am to 6pm 7 days a week but check their listing to hours for individual stands. Sees that a number of shops are closed and quite a few close early. A good bet to pick up something quick to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have shops that sell meats, cheese, bread, pastries, pies, donuts. Also a number of different ethnicities represented and their foods.
It can get very crowded and there is minimal space for sitting. If you are looking for a quite meal this is not the place.
I would specifically recommend : Hershel's East Side Deli (hugh sandwiches include pastrami, turkey, brisket, corn beef, bagels, lox, etc.; and Beiler's Donuts and Salads

Nice food court with produce, vegetable and fruit. There are seating area with plastic divider to prevent covid transmission. IMO, the food is overpriced as well as parking around the Philly. If you buy food at minimum of $10, make sure you have the vendor to validate parking ticket so you will pay $5 up to 2 hours at the parking garage across RTM. I certainly will not go back here. There are other options.

As soon as you enter the Reading terminal market, all you can see, hear and look at is food stalls. People buying food, eating food or talking about food. There is a great variety of food available whether it is Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai or Philly special. I completely loved being here and trying some different cuisine. Prices are reasonable and you can but fresh produce to take out dishes all. It is mostly packed with a lot of tourists but would recommend visiting this market for experiencing the flavors of street food.

The Reading Terminal Market is a Philadelphia institution. It offers you a tremendous variety of food and other items.
We ate the Dutch restaurant and had pancakes and bacon but it was barely average as there was a big hunk of what appeared to be nucoa margarine and the bacon was more in crumbles instead of strips that you would expect. Anyway, the venue offers unique products in one location.

It’s a great place to kill some time indoors or if no one in your group can agree on what to have for lunch, but it was a bit too much of a walk from Independence Mall for a food court experience. At least most of the restaurant/shops were open, which I cannot say the same for other food court type places during this “season” of Covid. Everyone was wearing masks, but it’s almost impossible to socially distance.

We use to live in Philadelphia and loved going to Reading Terminal Saturday mornings. Now it is opened all day Saturday and part of Sunday. Some of my favorites are Beck's Cajun Cafe, Luhv Vegan Deli and all of the Amish restaurants. It really is happening, with the crowds being one of the few downsides. There are also excellent cheese shops, pastry shops, and produce stores.

I’d go here if you’re looking for food (and quite the variety). We went on a holiday weekend though and it was VERY crowded. Something tells me it is like that every weekend. We had to stand to wait for a table to open up to eat. But overall worth it.

I was told there is a stall you can get those there at. Supposed to be pretty good. Didn’t have a chance to eat there though.

There are convenient garages adjacent but no parking in Center City is cheap.
