Fort Ebey State Park is a wonderful spot on Whidbey Island. There are beautiful hiking trails with gorgeous views of Puget Sound. Unfortunately, we had limited time here, as we needed to move on to Deception Pass before the sun sets. We could have easily spent 2 hours here.

What a gorgeous area of the island with a 3.5 mile trail that is pretty easy along the cliff face and then down to the beach. If you have kids that won't run off the beaten path, this is a great, not too steep hike along some of the prettiest scenery around. Amazing views on a sunny day and a... More

Take the left road after entering and go to the remnants of the gun emplacements called the "fort". Below extend huge rolling lawns ready for a blanket and a picnic basket lunch with a panoramic view! Camp sites looked great and we intend to come back and stay next time.

My husband and I camped here for a weekend in August. What a gorgeous place. We hiked the Bluff Trail, which had some beautiful views, and spent some time at the beach. The beach is very pretty, but mostly rocky. There were big enough waves the day we were there for some people to be surfing. We also visited the... More

We parked in the small parking lot at the end of Ebey's Landing road which provided immediate access to the bluff trail. It took only minutes before we were on the bluff overlooking the water with the view only improving as the elevation increased. You can end the hike there or continue for miles beyond.

There are trails along the bluffs and through the forest and beaches and it faces west -- nice Olympics views.

We spent an afternoon here hiking, beachcombing, picnicing... There is definitely something for everyone. The bluff hike is only 2 miles, but much is uphill, a lot for a girl with a slipped disc. Great covered picnic area after the uphill climb for a great lunch overlooking the water... Gorgeous!

Fort Ebey is definitely worth a couple hours of your time! The grounds are very large and walking in and on the large guns is amazing! The lighthouse is worth the walk.
