Lodore is well off the beaten path in Dinosaur. If that's what you like, check it out. You'll drive an hour or two from US 40 to get there, and find few others. You can head round the east side of the Monument on state or county roads, or head up from Vernal through Crouse Canyon, across a swinging bridge,... More

Not much going on out here, which is how we like it. There are a lot of camping spots with no one there. The ranger station was closed. Bathrooms well managed. We hiked the short trail, it's a hot one in the summer, no cover, but the view is amazing and worth it. I wish there was a trail along... More

First as you travel from east to west don't take the first turn off, take the second and save yourself 4 miles of gravel washboard road. The second turn is still 3 miles of washboard, but at the end you are rewarded with a grand view of the Green River and the canyon "gates". The short hike up the wall... More
