the worst experience ever? The management has no clue on customer service and the staff has zero knowledge on the product they sell. Stay away and repost, so non informed tourists don't get ripped off like I did thanks.

During a recent trip to Mammoth, my son and I stopped in here after having visited many other stores to try to learn about snowboard boots. We came to the right place. Unlike most of the places that had basically hired high school kids and cashiers, the staff at P3 was exceedingly knowledgeable about the products they sell, very friendly and there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything (they're not on commission). The selection was also very good. Next time, I would save myself any more time and just come here first.

We wandered into P3 on our first day in Mammoth. The guys working (didn't remember names, sorry!) were very friendly. The next day we decided to go mountain biking and decided to give P3 a try since they were so nice the day before. They didn't disappoint - we rented 3 biked and were heading off to the trails in no time at all. We were offered helmets (we already had some) and a tool/repair kit (which we did take them up on). We opted for the 4 hour rental (was actually 5 since they give you some time to get to the trails).
One bike we returned after just an hour as I was not quite used to the elevation change yet and quite exhausted! I just ferried the bikes up the mountain for the rest of the time enjoying the boys' stories of the trail they just conquered.

Check out and returning the bikes was a very quick and painless process. There's a nice shop for clothing and outdoor equipment also if you are interested.

They also do repairs as my son had a flat on his personal bike and they changed it for him as we didn't have any spare tubes. Just a nominal fee plus tube charge.
