Fun, pricey activities for kids
Aug 2021
After riding the scenic gondola we stopped at the adventure center for our grandkids to see what they would like to try. They chose rock climbing, the stone panning and the rope course which they loved. At ages 11, 10 and 8, the rope course was fun but I noticed some nervous smaller kids and one little girl started crying before she finished. Although there is a height requirement this activity may be too challenging for some children. A bit pricey but fun.

Fun adventure
Jul 2019 • Family
My kids are 15 and 13 and really enjoyed hanging out at the adventure center. The lines were not too long, and they did the rock wall, the trampoline, the ropes course, and the zip line. The weather was beautiful and it took about two hours to complete everything they wanted to do...fun afternoon with family…

Avoid "Adventure Course" At All Costs
Jul 2019 • Family
Spent $59 for an "adventure pass" for my daughter, which gave her access to a rock climbing wall, a "eurojump", a zipline and an "adventure course". A friend joining her for the adventure course spent $29 for a single turn on it.

The course should take approx. 15 minutes to complete, if there are no delays. Between the time the girls got in line and finished it was almost two hours, most of which was due to the apparently policy of the center to allow children who were basically incapable of completely the course -- or paralyzed with fear -- to stop the progress of the other children for up to 10 - 15 minutes. While I totally understand that everyone moves at his/her own pace, I don't understand prioritizing the struggling to such a great extent, particularly when the vast majority of most of those struggling were screaming in fear. After an extreme delay, the would be halfheartedly coached along by a staff member, invariably leading to another stop, etc.

The rest of the activities were crowded, but no more than one would expect on July 5th.

An outstanding day of summer fun for kids
Aug 2018
For the summer months the area in front of the main lodge at Mammoth is just as busy as in the winter. All for kids. Zip lines, rock wall climbs, rope climbs and more. Every event is carefully supervised by a large alert staff and provides endless hours of fun while the parents can watch from comfortable chairs and sip their drinks.

Central location for activities
Jul 2018 • Solo
Lacking in snacks and refreshments. Nice, central spot to board buses and take the gondola. I visited in the summer. Surprisingly, the place was packed. This is where you catch the bus to Devils Postpile. Parking is free.

Great bike hire centre with amazing helpful staff
Aug 2017 • Family
We hired bikes for our family and the staff were exceptionally helpful. . Bikes were great and when my son fell off and hurt himself badly they made sure we were given a credit . These guys work very hard in delivering excellent customer service and I would definitely go back and hire bikes from them again.

A place for souvenirs and last minute items.
Jul 2017 • Family
You can shop here or buy tickets for the bus or gondola here. We did all 3. My daughter didn't tell my wife her shoes were too small so we had to find some hiking shoes for our trip to the Devil's Post Pile. We found a very nice pair of sneakers that didn't cost as much as we expected. 60 bucks for the pair. The people there were also very helpful.

Snow mobiling
Apr 2017
Booked snow mobiling with my family. 2 double mobiles. There were 4 folks in all with a guide. I was excited about this small group. However the 2 other drivers were so tentative that it made this trip slow and dull. This was my first time and I was by no means an expert, but geeeeez. The place should really try and make a better effort of placing groups of beginners, intermediate, and advanced. It was very expensive for this type of feeling after.

Great for all even in September
Sep 2016 • Family
Staying in mammoth we called up the gondola and we all very much enjoyed the views from the top. Not cold either. Around $30 each and under 12's are free. Great views from 12,000 feet on top of the world.
