Less than a mile from the parking lot (which can fill up really early, so plan an early start!), the Crystal Lake Trail is a 0.9m hike that takes you to Crystal Lake. On the way, you have some great views of the Lake Mary...More

Maybe we visited on a sunday, but compared with (the many) surrounding lakes : too crowded to our opinion. We like it more quiet. Lots of cars, boats and people fishing.

We usually hike to Crystal Lake in the late summer. However, once we did hike there in the late spring early summer. On the trail we met skiers who had hiked up from Crystal Lake to higher elevations to ski!

This trail is a must do if you are in the Mammoth Lakes area. The views at the top are absolutely stunning and worth the climb up. We absolutely loved it!

Around 2.6 miles round trip. Moderate and steep. The view once you reach is awesome. Plus in winter water covered with ice made it beautiful. While hiking you can see some great views of Lake George and others. Only problem was the Trial path. It...More

Beautiful hike. Moderately difficult as a lot of it is up hill. There's a lot of shade though which makes it more bearable. I also saw quite a few kids on the trail who seemed to be doing just fine. Everywhere you turn is a...More

Definitely worth seeing when visiting mammoth lakes. Be prepared for the altitude. The distances are not that long but the altitude takes a lot out of you. Spectacular views made this one of the better hikes I have been on. I would put this is...More
