Fun night

Went in for a little while. It was alright. Good service and a good, little spot to hang out. Give it a try and see what you think.

Fun Bar
Dec 2016 • Family
THis bar is adjacent to Lehigh University campus, and although I have visited this area for 35 years, only just entered the Fun House over the holidays.

Inside was not what I expected, just kind of a neighborhood bar, that was much larger than it seems from outside.
A wide range of ages from young 20 to around 60. Had a live band playing surprisingly progressive music.
Two bartenders were very friendly and efficient and it was actually a very fun night.
One thing unusual was that it is a smoking bar...so we all smelled like cigarettes afterward. But overall a fun visit

You have to understand a couple things about the Fun House. If you want to drink and listen to good upcoming bands and don't mind a college atmosphere then this is the place for you. If you want to sit and have someone bring you alcohol and listen to music you are in the wrong place. This is in a college area with lots of talented musicians and local drinkers so remember, you are there for the music and drinking, not to be catered. This is a good stop-in place while wondering the streets of the area.

Good bands bad service
Nov 2013
The bands are great. My first time being there and besides the small space and being shoulder to shoulder with people and almost nose to nose with the singer of the bands the music is great and lively. The service on the other hand was rude. I personally look young and i get alot that i dont look my age my friend i was with also looks young. They checked our IDs and let us in but a little later the person who checked us in said he knew we had fake IDs which to that we replied no we dont then he walked away. I wish my friend asked for a manager or told him to go ahead and swip check them or something. If your not sure of our age be honest and say your not and check our info, dont come back to us a few moments later and try to hassle us. The only thing i can really say good about this place is the music.

The only place in Bethlehem (and perhaps the whole Lehigh Valley) that offers live bands every night. Sure, the place is cramped, smoky, and the you're welcome inn is cheaper, but this is the best venue to see a variety of local bands. There is usually a $3-5 cover charge, a patio out back, and a small pool table that is impossible to play on (The surrounding walls get in the way)
