really disgusting
Jul 2019 • Family
I went to Milford Beach and it was the dirtiest beach ever. the life guards are terrible they're little children who are extremely unintelligent. I wouldn't count on them to save my life!!! the water is filthy and there is no sand just plain old dirt. the people cleaning up the place do a horrible job because there is filth all over. maybe it would be nice if the beach was legit, meaning having life guards who know how to do their job and maybe if there was a legit beach.. ooh and it smells like horse manure.

Much better now!
Jul 2018 • Family
They've really cracked down now on the loud music and alcohol which was causing the beach to be much less desirable. It was lovely this time when we were there, and park rangers were around a lot to be absolutely sure all rules were being enforced. Definitely need water shoes for going in the river because of the many rocks, but the water was clear and delightful when we went. One entry price for the carload, but even with the senior lifetime park pass it was still $5/car on a weekday. More without a park pass. Restrooms are large and clean - definitely a plus. Beach is mostly grass and then a little sand and rocks down by the water. Picnic tables are available further up from the water under a pavillion.

Great clean modern park
Aug 2017 • Family
I love taking a ride to this park and going for a bike ride or hikes. The property had been taken over on the weekends by tourists with blaring music and kids by the river opening. Sometimes the constant pickup and drop off by the local canoe and kayak outfitter can be frustrating when trying to get your own kayak out of the water.
They also have a very modern boat ramp if your trailer a bass boat in. Well worth the $45 annual pass if your local like we are. Probably the best place to just hangout and relax.

Music was extremely loud!!!!!!!
Jul 2017 • Family
My family and I went to the park for a 4th of July 2017 picnic. The music was so loud it was difficult to have a simple conversation. The park rangers were called on several occasion regarding the loud music however they refused to leave their vehicles and address the issue.. And the situation got worse, when the park staff left for the day(which all the loud music players new exactly the time) at ~ 4pm, people drove their vehicles close to their picnic area and played music from their vehicles, the music was a lot louder!

Terrible!!!!
Aug 2016 • Family
Have been here many times and it has been ok. No more!!! If you like loud music and I MEAN LOUD MUSIC, this is your place. I asked life guards if they could ask these people to turn it down to the level that the entire beach didn't have to listen to it. I was told that they can play music if they want regardless if it is noise pollution. Next time bring death metal and see how that plays! Small crowded rochy swim area, bring river shoes. Oh yeah...all this for a bargain of $10.00.

Not worth the money

For $10.00, all you get is access to a muddy water front, littered with rocks. The pool area is 15x30 yards only, and the guards pull you out if you step out of the confines. Spent 1/2 hour and left, never to return.

Good for a view of the river, quiet picnic and boat launch

Grounds are clean and well kept. Week days it is little used. Good place to park (fee) if you are going fishing or hike/bike the McDade Trail. Not a sand beach

Don't bother
Jul 2011
This "beach" is nothing but a tiny roped off area with hard, point rocks. We visited the middle of July and spent less than 10 minutes there. The swimming part was so crowded you basically had to stand still, that's if you could stand to be on a point rock for more than a minute. They do have a large picnic area but the day we were there, it was taken over by one large gorup who were blasting music and had large bonfire going. Even the area to put your chair is just rocks.
What a waste of time. And for all this, we got to pay $10 to pull in.
