Do stop by and see this unique opera house....it has lots of interesting rooms handpainted by the ballet dancer Marta. Go to the office for the tour....it is $5 but worth it.... Enjoy.

We stopped in for an hour or so on our way to Death Valley, so this review is not of the hotel but rather the opera house itself. When we arrived, the opera house was closed! Very disappointing as my daughter had seen it on...More

Kind of a quaint, qwerky, bare bones hotel. 2 beds and a shower. All okay. No amenities in room at all. Coffee in lobby if you can find it. No staff on site until 8:00 am. So if you are an early riser, don't expect...More

There is an improbable, but true story of a New York dancer captivated by a building in the desert. She renovated the building and made it her personal performance space, painting her audience on the walls.

We had the pleasure of watching Jenna McClintock perform ballet at this unique and beautiful opera house near Death Valley. She was awesome and is taking up for the owner Marta Beckett. The paintings in the opera house were super!

The Opera House, while it may or may not be one of a kind, is certainly unique. There was no performance while we were there, but we did take the tour, and were amazed at what had been wrought. The amount of work which went...More

Death Valley Junction is almost a ghost town, with derelict buildings remaining from earlier mining days. Five people live there now and maintain an incredible tradition, started by dancer/artist Marta Becket 50 years ago, and now continued by Jenna McClintock. Both were professional dancers, in...More

This was a really fun stop on the way thru the Death Valley area. It tells the story of the trials and successes of ballerina, Marta Beckett. The documentary shown is quite long, but is an absolute must if you want to hear the story...More

Beautiful ballet was the last thing we expected in a ghost town, but one of the highlights of our trip. If life is art, there are few more compelling examples than the night life at Amargosa Opera House. Jenna McClintock's mesmerizing dances, amid stunning murals...More
