The DeSoto National Park is a favorite walk for our dog- the trails are fun for everyone and the views from the Manatee river and bay are spectacular! She demands to do this park every Weekend- and we also love it!

Great place to learn about a Spanish explorer and the horrid methods he used to accomplish his search for gold. Pleasant greeting and great information from staff. Be sure to watch the informative film before walking the well maintained trails. Easy to locate and lots...More

I like that you can take your dog with you on the trails. I saw horse shoe crabs and dolphins. Nice trails for walking.

Beautiful place! The lady inside the visitor center was wonderful and very helpful. They had armor for the kids to try on, and crayons and coloring pages to keep them busy as well. Great place!

A nice afternoon strolling around the paths and reading about history. I could have sat and watched the sail boats out on the bay enjoying the breeze all afternoon. Quite a few people just sitting in the shades by the water reading their books enjoying...More

This little gem is worth a stop if your nearby. The trail is short and very shaded. If you’re a history buff you’ll love learning about DeSoto - be sure to catch the movie. Dog friendly and a great place to picnic.
