First of all, I must admit, that I love cemeteries! My daughters have probably seen more cemeteries than most adults as we usually stop and see at least one one on every family vacation. We have seen some great ones and some that were not so great, large ones and small family plots. This one was an extremely large one... More

We are cemetery nerds - the kind that stop at any we see when on road trips. We all agree that is us by far the BEST we've been to. It is huge so be prepared! The grounds are gorgeous and the history is unique. The variety of stones and sculptures makes for a fun hunt to find the most... More

We were visiting various Wright Brother sites in Dayton. Stopped here to see their final resting places. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful cemetery. Also saw resting site of Paul Lawrence Dunbar. For more info see: https://www.nps.gov/daav/index.htm https://www.wright.edu/maps/facility/dunbar-library-paul-laurence

We happened upon this beautiful place by accident. My children where learning about the Wright Brothers and we were directed here by the NPS. I felt strange visiting a cemetery but let me just say it was such a magnificent place to spend a day or eternity. You can visit the office and they will give you a map to... More

We went there for a guided twilight walking tour with lanterns, it was amazing. The tour guide told us stories of various people from all walks of life. Since the Wright Brothers are buried there, and all Daytonians know their story, it was wonderful to learn more about other inhabitants of the cemetery.

The day of the tour was sunny and warm and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Set in a beautifully wooded area the trees and birds added to the interest of the tour. There is a lot of Dayton history at the cemetery along with numerous famous people. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and always willing to take questions. Tour lasts... More

It sounds weird to say a cemetery is fun and amazing but it is! It's a great place to walk, even a work out walk. It's very hilly so you get a good work out. I've been several times and you will see people stretching and working out. The old trees are beautiful and it's quiet. The old tombstones are... More

Then when you're in Dayton, you should visit Woodland. Not only is it beautifully landscaped but there are many resting places dating from the early 1800's if not earlier. Besides several Ohio and Dayton celebrities buried here, it also is the resting site sir several nationally as well as internationally known persons. The most notable persons are humorist Erma Bombeck,... More

I grew up in Dayton and had never been to the grounds before. The new overlook offers a great view of the area.
