- Kelly CathcartValparaiso, Indiana1,229 contributionsGreat walkThis park along the river is very nice. When the weather allows it seems there is food stands and kayaks to rent. We were there in not great weather but I am sure this would be a great place to kayak. It is a great place to walk and get away from traffic and noise of the city no matter the weather.Visited March 2022Written July 24, 2022
- Dede K210 contributionsFountains ⛲️A beautiful park is an understatement! If you are coming down the highway and see the sprays, you want to track them down! We were in from out of state and were just driving along. We followed the roads and hopped out to have a look. Just as we were walking down the path, they stopped. We didn’t know any kind of schedule so we walked around and took in the scenery. Sculptures, flowers…a beautiful place to take photos. Then suddenly, the highest sprays of water you have ever seen! We were so glad we waited. Breathtaking!Visited August 2022Traveled with familyWritten July 17, 2023
- famroadtripsChicago, Illinois3 contributionsGood place to check outGoing through Dayton on a road trip and decided to check out an outdoor point of interest because of pandemic. We strolled around the river edge with our dog. The big fountains on the river were a nice surprise. They turn on every so many minutes and depending on which way the wind blows, you might get sprayed like what happened to us. Nice place to check out though if you want to chill out.Visited August 2020Traveled with familyWritten August 14, 2020
- zeek_aldredge20 contributionsGreat place wander and hang in daytonThe Metroparks did a fabulous job on thier flagship entertainment and winter gives a perfect background for days to ice skate or bike the bikeway to or from the downtown riverscape and downtown activities. Some food there and each year it gets some better but I would rate the food a 4 out of 10 and the wait for food really sucks if it is busy. apck a backpack lunch. The mark district has one flaw There are Rangers EVERYWHERE and pretty stoic. You know the thumbs on you there and god help you if you have a beer on thier property and its not a sanctioned event. but enjoy as it is alot of money spent on a grand location on the river. and, they have really cool gardens and pools to watch the street irchens watch you.Visited November 2013Traveled with familyWritten November 25, 2013
- Ab42187Miamisburg, Ohio247 contributionsNice and PeacefulI agree with other travelers that it is a nice and peaceful place to spend some time at. Even though it is in downtown Dayton you do not hear all the noise associated with it. This is a nice park to walk right by the Great Miami River and enjoy your views. This past Winter (2010-2011) they opened an Ice Skating rink. During the summer they have many different entertainment options.Visited June 2011Written June 13, 2011
- nubbin341 contributionSimply BeautifulI had the pleasure of spending time at Riverscape. I enjoyed the water fountains, landscaping, various informative plaques. We had the pleasure of hearing a young man play his trumpet at rivers edge so it echoed from the concrete wall across the river. Interesting to read and see tributes to Frase inventor of the pull tab. There was such a variety in such relaxing surroundings it is difficult to do it justice. Time well spent.Written August 26, 2007
- KatieVirginia75 contributionsOne of the nicest river walk areas I've encounteredA lot of cities have walking paths along their rivers. We walked Dayton's at both night time and during the day and were impressed. It seems to be kept up nicely and felt safe. The lights on the river were beautiful at night. The swings, statues and fountains along the trail were fun. It looks like there are fun concerts and other events if you are there at the right time.Visited September 2018Traveled as a coupleWritten October 2, 2018
- mcdh4561Fredericksburg, Virginia574 contributionsBeautiful river viewsThis is a lovely riverwalk through downtown Dayton. The walk is well-kept and there are many nice swinging benches to sit in and take in the view. Don't miss the Wright Flyer. One word of Caution-there is a sketchy element here-panhandlers, mostly, but one can never know.Visited May 2018Traveled as a coupleWritten May 1, 2018

The fountains and plantings really make this a place that is inviting. The kids love the splash fountains! We happened to walk right into the Irish Festival. A great time. The rivet walk was nice, good bike path for families. Who would have thought that there were great paved bike trails all though the Dayton metro area. This stretch takes you all through the downtown area, through several parks and even up several switchback to the top of Huffman Dam. The view from the top is a 360 degree experience and it makes you wonder how they build this dam after the "big flood". The bike path also takes you by the air force base and museum. We even saw a deer strolling along the path as we sped by, There are lots of places to "get on" the path so just find a beginning point and start peddling. After all the Wright Bros had a bike shop before they built planes!!

This park is stationed smack dab in the middle of downtown Dayton with the river right next to it. There are lots of festivals that take place at this location, which is perfect because there is a massive stage for performers. There are also tons of activities at Riverscape to include work out sessions that are FREE and other exciting activities. I highly recommend checking this place out, especially when there is a festival or activity taking place.

This was such a welcome addition to add interest to a possibly dying downtown area. Adding whitewater rafting will only help more. Festivals downtown are great
