I visited here on a day off during a business trip. The drive up the mountain is a little hairy, but worth it. Breathtaking views of the U.S. and Mexican border. If you're in the Sierra Vista area, it's only like 30 min away. I...More

Montezuma Pass is within Coronado National Memorial. From this point, you have views back east to the San Pedro River and west to the San Rafael Valley. You can also access the Arizona Trail, Joe's Canyon Trail, and Coronado Peak Trail from the parking area...More

Travel this site and enjoy the raw beauty. WE have visited this area twice now. Border patrol is busy here, so do not be wondering about. The pass is amazing with its views.

We were advised by someone in the Sierra Vista visitors center to come up there when my husband asked for a great place to take night sky pictures. Most of the road was fairly easy but the last unpaved section, maybe 2 or 3 miles,...More

After a disappointing visit to Tombstone, we needed something to make up for it. So we visited the Montezuma pass, it was great. The ride up there is fun and easy (bit like Moki Dugway but less dramatic). Once at the parking lot you already...More

Seems every time i have come to Cochise county to visit, it was not only cold but the mountains were covered with snow. I finally hit it right. This pass is situated in the Coronado National Memorial. As you enter the Park, you will find...More

When entering the Coronado National Monument - climb the long winding trail to the top then continue to drive through Montezuma Pass - beautiful area - well worth the drive !

The road up to the Pass at 6575 ft above sea level is not for the faint of heart! The last 3 miles are on a narrow, switchback, gravel road with no guard rails. And when I say switchback, I mean very tight, mountain hugging...More

There's a couple miles of dirt roads, but it's worth the drive. Great views. In the photo you can see the curvy dirt road below. There's a ranger station before you begin your ascent. Kent

I suffer from vertigo. The road up to Montezuma's Pass made my knees weak. About halfway up, or perhaps even less than halfway up, I could not take being in the car. We parked in a pull-away spot and walked the rest of the way...More

One thing I failed to mention. Beware of rattlesnakes. There are signs all around SE AZ to be aware. One place I would suggest in Tucson is the AZ Sonora Desert Museum to the west of Tucson off North Kinney Road. It's a... More
