We spent a day here with a birding guide and saw a Trogan and a crested flycatcher. This is a lovely spot with good remenants of a homestead, lovely birds all in a glorious canyon.

Couldn't ask for a more beautiful location, helpful staff, water and restrooms available, tours, nature store, small museum like atmosphere. The hike was so enjoyable... 2 years in a row even.

Take the 2-3 hour docent tour if you want to learn all about the preserve. It's well worth the time and absolutely beautiful.
