No dogs allowed. They were quite nasty about our bringing dogs. There was a small "please don't bring pets" notice on the board outside the entrance. Despite it being 70 degrees out, and our parking in the shade with windows down, we were told it...More

Excellent Nature Conservancy site. Great for birding. Nice hiking trails as well as an excellent shop that has many books for sale that deal with the flora and fauna of the southwest. Parking is very limited so it is best to arrive very early in...More

Mid-day visit meant the hummingbirds weren't feeding then, so if you want to greet them, go early or late to sit near the feeders scattered throughout the canyon in viewing areas. This is indeed a birders paradise, take binoculars if you will. The sound of...More

Was able to enjoy the entire hike early in the morning when it wasn't crowded. Trails and marker will defined. Some birds but not many hummers.

The great thing about the Ramsey Canyon hike is that the terrain is do unexpected. We are used to hiking in the AZ desert but this area is heavily wooded. The hike to the Overlook is about a mile. The first half is easy and...More

Second time we visited this Canyon sponsored by the Nature Conservancy. We missed the Elegant Trogon but spotted a Townsend’s Warbler as we left. Many nice spots to sit and enjoy the brook or take a good hike, whatever you choose.

First time at the Preserve. Called ahead and was told it wasn't busy and to come on out. Gentleman at the Preserve gave me a very detailed description of trail and a nice little map to follow. The trail up to the Outlook was steep,...More

Went for a short hike up to the top of Ramsey Mt. It was short because the Preserve locked the parking gates at 4pm. Very nice natural area. Will explore more next time in area. Life Is Good
