Like many craft shops that feature local talent, you'll see art and craft of various levels. It's possible to see work by gifted craftspeople as well as some who will grow their talent. If you walk around, you will find something that suits you for yourself or as a gift. There's a fun museum in the basement.

Not seeing a review since 2019, we were concerned they were another casualty of Covid-19. We came to Yorktown to get lunch on the Riverwalk. This gallery is on Main St, which is up the hill from the Riverwalk and easily missed by tourists. So happy to see "We're Open" as we pulled in.

This gallery contains lots and lots of handmade items by local artists. Right now there are loads of items in anticipation of Christmas. The woman who runs the gallery (as a volunteer) is there 6 days a week. Please visit this friendly lady.

Thanks so much for your kind words! We reopened earlier this summer when we were able to get masks for our volunteers, hand sanitizer for all, and signs stressing social distancing. And we have some wonderful hand-made masks for sale! We are open Tuesday through Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 1-4. Many of our artists were stuck at home during the winter and spring, and they've brought in some wonderful items for sale! Purchases at the Gallery at York Hall support many local non-profits, and we are ready for a busy Christmas season. Thanks again for the compliments.

Nice gallery, but it smells musty and moldy. Closed on Monday. Staff is cordial, but not willing to give tours.

Thanks for visiting the Gallery at York Hall---we're so sorry that you were disappointed in your visit. Unfortunately, your visit apparently occurred shortly after a major leak was found in the lower level, and an unpleasant odor permeated both the Gallery and the Museum. We can assure you and other visitors that your experience was an extremely rare one and is not our usual pleasant visit. The Gallery at York Hall on the first floor is a non-profit operated by the Celebrate Yorktown Committee, and its volunteers are trained and supported in displaying and selling the original art objects of over 300 artists featured in the Gallery. The York County Historical Museum on the lower level of York Hall is a separate non-profit--we're so lucky in our town of 195 people to have so many organizations that support the history and arts of York County! The Museum depends on a separate group of volunteers especially trained to conduct tours of the exhibits, but enough museum volunteers are not always available to fill all dates and time slots. Unfortunately, the volunteers at the Gallery at York Hall are not trained to conduct tours of the museum, and, for safety and security reasons, visitors are not permitted to view the Museum exhibits without a trained guide. We're so sorry you were not able to visit the museum while you were here. We hope you'll return for another visit and have the kind of experience we plan for all our guests to Yorktown!

Something for everyone at this great shop at the top of the hill in Yorktown. Well organized and lots of interesting items, from hand carved waterfowl to handmade jewelry, as well as something for the kids. The shop has a paid manager, but the rest of the staff are volunteers. Prices are reasonable and you can spend a little or a lot. Their website is: www.yorkcounty.gov/cyc.
As locals, we go there often and usually find something new and unique each visit. It is located across from the Swan Tavern Antiques.

If you visit only one store in Yorktown, make it this one. The place is packed with all manner of crafts, artworks and souvenirs offering something for almost everyone. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the prices were mostly reasonable. Don't miss the museum downstairs!

You're so nice to say these things! Our volunteers do our very best to make our visitors comfortable and welcome--and we're glad you enjoyed that. The York County Museum in the lower level is such a treat! Thanks for suggesting that others visit! Thanks for visiting, and we look forward to your coming again soon!

This gallery, operated by the nonprofit Yorktown Arts Foundation, has works from local and regional artists. You'll find original works -- paintings, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and more. It's staffed by the artists who are showing in the gallery, and they're always happy to talk about their work and so very friendly and welcoming. The art here is interesting and there are price points to fit most budgets.

We're so glad you enjoyed your visit to Yorktown and the Gallery at York Hall and hope you'll return soon! The Gallery at York Hall, displaying works by 300 artists, is actually operated by the non-profit Celebrate Yorktown Committee of the Yorktown Foundation with volunteers from that group who operate and staff the gallery. The Yorktown Arts Foundation operates On-the-Hill Gallery just a short distance down Main Street, and artists staff the gallery there.

Located on Main Street in the old court house. A wonderful shop filled with pottery, paintings, woodworking, books, photography, jewelry, cards, weaving, quilts, music, stained glass, and all types of other objects all created by local artists and individuals. All profits from this shop go back to the community as grants to fund various local needs.

The prices are very fair, the selection is wonderful, this is one of the nicest gift shops you will find anywhere in your travels.
