We went on a guided walking tour. $7.00 per person. The guide was very knowlegeable and answered questions. There is a free trolley that will take you into the town and they arrive at each stop about every 15 minutes. Enjoyed this part of the...More

It was a blazing hot day but we really loved hearing the guide's thorough stories about the history and seeing the field. We toured downtown Yorktown after and enjoyed the waterfront with ice cream.

Never visited here before on other trips to the area. Don't pass this by, stop to see the history. Nicely kept.

So you have the option of going on a walkway or going on a self guided driving tour. The driving tour is pretty massive and has stops along the way like the Moore House where you can get out and look around. It's pretty rough...More

We went with our three children aged 13,11 & 5. My 13 year old just thanked us for going there and said it was the best trip ever! The museum is interesting and educational. The CD led car tour is great! Well worth the extra...More

I am a writer and photographer for National Park Planner (npplan.com) and I visited the Yorktown Battlefield in May 2016. A must see location to learn about the beginning of the United States. This battle marked the end for the British control of the colonies. A great National park site. Hands on history. Colonial highway is the best way to travel between Yorktown, Williamsburg, &...More

We drove around following the signs and had a great time checking out everything. I thought it was really cool to be able to stand in some of the same places where history was made. It was very scenic and peaceful but you have to...More

We took the driving tour thru the battlefield but did not get a chance to stop in the Visitors Center. It was a long and informative tour there are many points to stop, get out, visit and learn along the way

On our trip to Williamsburg we went to Yorktown National Battlefield. We opted to bypass the Victory Center since we had a good dose of Revolutionary life in Colonial Williamsburg. Our ticket for Historic Jamestown was good for Yorktown Battlefield. We spent some time in...More

Can you pull an RV there?

I wouldn't recommend it. Because of the size of the roads and the twists and turns, it would be cumbersome. It would be much easier without pulling an RV.

Do you suggest we buy tickets ahead? How many people do you expect? Where do you suggest we look for accomodations?

My dad is over 60 and he was offered a lifetime pass for 10 dollars and is good for all national parks. We were there on a Wednesday and had the park to ourselves. They offer an audio tour so you can move at your own pace.
