On our recent Mother/Daughter trip to the Historical triangle, we visited the National Yorktown Battlefield, watched the short movie and took a walking tour with the Park Ranger. Didn't expect much from the tour but how wrong I was. Wish I could remember the Park...More

Site was very nice. Easy to follow the battlefield and great for walking. Been to a number of battlefields and this one has to be one of the most scenic.

A complete package in the, description and drama of this battle......a must see......make sure you see the intro movie, then the museum and then drive the battlefield autoroute. Make sure you talk to the Park Rangers for entry deals into other parks.

Just walking the ground of this important place in North American history is cool enough but the local town of Yorktown is an equally interesting spot to wander through. The museum has an entertaining (albeit a bit "cheesy" ) film on the significance of the...More

There is a small museum at the Visitor's Center that is really interesting and has some good displays for both adults and kids. The film is older but helpful, especially for those who do not really know the full significance or story of Yorktown. The...More

Yorktown Battlefield park is well worth a visit. It is about 10 miles form Williamsburg and the visitors center provides a good orientation. The battlefield can be self guided by car but they do offer walking tours as well. A free shuttle runs into the...More

Enjoyed the step back into history. Nice facility with several options. We purchased a senior park pass that is good for anyone over 62 and is only $10 right now. Will go up to $80 later on this year.

Good visit to battlefield. It was overcast with a few sprinkles. We did the diving tour and hopped out when it convenient. A nice visitor center with guided tours available.

Not my first visit here, but one of the more informative. The rangers know so much information. See the film first it explains much especially when comparing it to the paper map and guide provided by the park service. I took my mother and wife...More

I wouldn't recommend it. Because of the size of the roads and the twists and turns, it would be cumbersome. It would be much easier without pulling an RV.

Do you suggest we buy tickets ahead? How many people do you expect? Where do you suggest we look for accomodations?

My dad is over 60 and he was offered a lifetime pass for 10 dollars and is good for all national parks. We were there on a Wednesday and had the park to ourselves. They offer an audio tour so you can move at your own pace.
