Amazing!!! This was our 3rd time on the Spectre and it did not disappoint... the crew was awesome, very professional, attentive, and friendly. And there were great dive locations food was great as well.

Always a good time on Spectre. I was recommended to go on Spectre Dive Boat by the owner at Scubatude. This was my second trip with Spectre. Both trips I went solo and both trips I made tons of friends. I am a Dive Instructor, so I was a bit hesitant to have my buddy be a gamble, but I just got chatting with people and was invited into other groups. The chef is great! Both times they made me food according to my dietary restrictions, and the vegetarian burger is great! The dive spots have been great and diverse, and I love coming out to snacks and a hot tub. Spectre will be my go-to dive operation from now on.

We've been for a full day diving in Santa Cruz island. Due to rough seas, we did the 3 dives in the same spot. GOOD : - The boat has a lot of space, and all the cumfort you could expect and even more: lots of seats, hot thub, showers, kitchen - the diving rental gear is in a perfect condition. Brand new and everything is ready when you arrive. - the food: different choices of food, snacks and everything is excellent - the boat driving: even if rough seas, ,we can tell the captain has an excellent driving and knows perfectly what he does BAD: - The number of divers: how are you supposed to have good wildlife encounters when you drop 35 divers in the same diving spot all in the same time ? There were 15 harbor seals when we arrived. They very soon disappeared, scared by so many divers and bubbles in the water. It was like being in a diving factory. - The briefings: Channel Islands are a national park. However, we had no briefing about the marine species, the ecosystem, how to behave with marine wildlife. Very very poor information. - The safety: there is no divemaster or intructor with you in the water. You go by yourself and if you do not have the appropriate experience or skill to be autonomous, well, good luck because they don't check, they just trust you are good enough. This is not acceptable to drop people in a wild and new environment for them without guiding them and checking their level. AVERAGE: - The team: with so many people onboard, don't expect the team to share with you. They smile, they are polite, they do their work but they are very impersonal. - The diving sites: we were so excited for our first kelp forest diving. We did it but 3 times in the exact same place. Because of bad weather, the team did no effort even to move the boat from only a few hundreds meters. To summarize, i would say this company is more a transport to bring diverd to Channel Islands than a true diving center. Big disappointment in my opinion so i would definitely not recommand them.

Thanks to a crew that was top notch it was an awesome experience. Preston was not only professional, also made me, a relatively inexperienced diver feel safe and at ease. There was a gal working closely with Preston who’s name I can’t recall who that was equally as impressive. The two stood out and I’ll be returning.
