Although there are the usual tourist-trap souvenir shops, and over-priced restaurants here, the main draw is the harbor. There are all kinds of work-boats, fishing boats and pleasure craft. Also rentals of various kinds of watercraft. It is (mostly) dog-friendly, with many of the restaurants having patios where dogs are welcome (Andria's is our fave). On Saturdays (early) there is... Has several restaurants, shops, harbor cruises and paddle boat/kayak rentals. We were able to keep the kids busy for most of the day. Was a short walk to the beach (although they say that the parking area is not to be used for beach parking).

Lived in this town all my life. Seen all the ups and downs of the harbor. It is a wonderful place for a leisurely walk with plenty to see. From the active fishing boat dock unloading the local catch on one end to the Channel Islands Museum on the other. Quaint boutiques and stores intertwined between all different types of... More

Being from Boston and loving the ocean harbors, this was our kind of place! Definitely bring a camera and wear comfy clothes and shoes. There are shops and restaurants with bands playing outside. The boats were mostly privately owned and "fun" types of vessels. There are tour boats that go out the Channel Islands (we checked out Island Packers, but... More

Plenty of shops to browse and restaurants to choose from. They have some tours on the harbor too for a price. Nice place to take a stroll and enjoy the view.

Ventura Harbor Village has a wonderful sidewalk around the harbor - great for the whole family to enjoy a stroll and watch the boats and the people. The restaurants on offer are generally pretty good. My favorites are The Greek and Milano's (who has a not to be missed Lobster Special on Wednesday nights!). But most of the stores are... More

We love walking around the harbor. Great exercise, flat surfaces. Fun shops and great food. Fun time watching the ships and people.

I fell in love with this peaceful place. Full of great things to see and do. My family took a boat tour of the Harbor that lasted 40 minutes and even took us out on to the open water of the Ocean. It was a nice place to walk around and shop. There was a dock with 6 or 7... More

Ventura Harbor was great for the family, the kids loved it. Great place to go kayaking, and boat ride. Were planning to go again and spend more time there.
