Took two cruises over a weekend in Late August. One of them was the cruise to Anacapa Island for a couple hours of exploring. I wouldn't recommend more than a 2-3 hour day on the island. There isn't a lot to see. The second day I took a wildlife cruise. Both days we saw dolphins and saw a whale the... More

We were able to do a walk on at the last minute and we really appreciated it. The boat went out of the gorgeous marina, to the open ocean towards Anacapa Island where we had a fantastic five hours. I smiled the entire time as we saw dolphins frequently in the wake of our great vessel, a humpback whale, a... More

Island Packers is the general public's way of getting to the Channel Island National Park's islands. But being a monopoly hasn't diminished their excellent customer service or their commitment to providing excellent and surprisingly affordable transportation to the Channel Islands. They offer harbor and whale-watching tours as well.

One of the great things about the Island Packers trips to the Channel Islands is that when you get lucky and there is a lot of sea life the captain almost always announces it and even goes out of the way to get a better view. It makes the trip a little longer but is a wonderful start or end... More

Island Packers provides boat service to the various Channel Islands. We went to Santa Cruz Island, a 23 mile trip into the ocean which ordinarily would take a little more than an hour. Because of storm damage last winter, the usual dock was unavailable and we were loaded onto skiffs about 200 yards off shore. This increased the trip's duration to... More

I took a trip out to Santa Cruz Island using Island Packers. The trip was smooth, the boat was clean, and I felt save the entire journey. They have a small snack shop on board with wine and beer too. They pointed out different animals they spotted on the ride, which made a lot of people ooh and aah. Because... More

Popular in summer. Great regular fast, comfortable (but basic) and efficient service with a fleet of high speed stable catamarans. Can be busy on weekends. Watch where you park, they ticket if you park in "Marina tenants" parking area. Have often seen pods of whales and dolphins on passage across. Variety of ferry and sightseeing trips. Often fog in area... More

Felt that this was a bit of a con as we didn't see that much wildlife of the Channel Islands which it advertised to show you the sealions around the island. Felt like they were just trying to get extra money when really all they were doing was dropping off campers and day trippers to Anacappa Island. Luckily we got... More

My wife and a couple of friends took the wildlife tour to Anacapa Island. The staff and crew of Island Packers were friendly and courteous from the time we set foot in their Office till we stepped off the boat at the end of the trip. The Captain and Crew of the Island Explorer were great at pointing out all... More

Love that the captain and guide were just as excited as we were at spotting blue whales! Only way to see Channel Islands. Dolphins, sea lions, seals, humpback whales and the beautiful water and scenery make an excellent outing.
