We have traveled over to the Islands many times during the past 40 years- great times. Whether it is a short trip, all-day or a over-night venture - all have been worthwhile. We have also go whale watching. Crew knows what they are doing. Taking children? They know how to handle younger passengers. The galley serves good food. Safety is... More

Captain Jimmy was the best, he helped us look for (and find!) a pod of dolphins, sea lions and even a blue whale. This was the trip of a lifetime for our ten year old granddaughter and we enjoyed it too. The operation to bring campers to CINP was efficient even with the disabled pier which required us to land... The boat ride is about an hour. We did not see any cetaceans on the way out or returning. Passengers on the boat were very possessive of their seats, saving seats and not wanting to move over to accommodate you--even if there were only 3 people sitting in a seat meant for 4 people. I probably climbed 1000 stairs while... More

Spent the day on Santa Cruz Island off Ventura Cali -- best way out is on Island Packers boat -- pretty good snack foods available AND the crew is outstanding ---- especially loading the4 boat for the return trip -- they work like horses to guarantee our safety.

My aging parents in law wanted to do something fun with the teen-aged grandchildren and the wildlife viewing cruise was perfect! There was indoor seating, seating on top of the boat, seating at the stern, and standing at the front of the boat. We brought snacks and there were also snacks on board for purchase. My teens spent most of... More

My husband and I planned to take the day trip out to Anacapa Island via Island Packers. The check in process was incredibly easy and smooth. Upon boarding, the staff was very helpful, friendly, and provided a laid-back environment. The journey out to the Channel Islands was more than we could have even anticipated. We saw so many dolphins, sea... More

We took Island Packers' day trip to Scorpion Bay, Santa Cruz Island. Online reservation was straightforward and check in at Ventura Harbor was quick. On the way over, we stopped to see sea lions, humpback whales, and two kinds of dolphins; the captain offered interesting information about each and gave us plenty of time to watch in awe. We also... For several years Our Employee Christmas Party has been with Island Packers! It is a fun way to see the Christmas lights and enjoy the boat parade. We always bring food and wine and the staff is always considerate and helpful!

Visited Channel Islands National Park (after all, I DO like National Parks!), and you can't drive or walk there. Island Packers is the concessionaire for the Park Service. One hour boat ride each way, with the "captain" stopping periodically to show us dolphins (and on the way back to Ventura) some whales! Due to pier damage on Santa Cruz island,... More
