Took the 60 min tour in a 4 person RZR at Red Sands. What a fun time zipping through the dunes! Brand new RZR.....literally! Delivered just that day and we were the first to drive it. They said all their equipment is 2019 or newer.
We took the 5 pm tour. Perfect because got to see the area in both daylight and as the sun was setting. Great perspective of both.
If you have your own quad, RZR, etc the property is open to anyone free of charge.
Terribly disappointing to see the amount of trash throughout the area!

Great outdoor fun for the location. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive. We use our Jeep. Some people are quick to help if you get stuck, or you may need protection from others. Just sayin. All in all nice place to become one with a beer and the desert.

Went here many of times while riding quad. It was my favorite spot to ride while living in El Paso. Sundays were very busy. Could be dangerous if you are wreckless. Do not recommend riding alone.

I have been riding at red sands since the 1970s and when I have family in town we usually take them to red sands. I would recomend going on the weekdays because the weekends get very packed. Especially on Sundays. There are many things to do like mountain bike riding, off road driving in 4x4 or motorcycles or quads and razors. You can also put your toes in the sand and roll around and take a grill and bbq. Just make sure to take a bag for your trash and take it with you. Please keep red sands beautiful.
In my years of off road riding i have seen many accidents at red sands. It is important to have a whip and a flag on your smaller motorcycles and quads. There are many people off roading in Jeeps and Trucks and Razors and you are no match if you run into them. There are MANY blind spots in the desert

I've ridden at Red Sands since the early '80s. It was always risky, but people back then were better riders and more concerned with safety. It has just gotten worse over the years. I guess it's a representation of today's society in general.
Now it's crowded with ATV riders, many of whom have no concern for others, for safety, nor any consideration whatsoever. It has become an unpleasant and unsafe place to ride if there are many others riding that day. If you catch it mid week, there aren't as many riders and it's a lot more pleasant. This was my last ride there.

Not a safe place to go. Definetly fun to go off roading but this place is unregulated. If you go go during the week when there are fewer people. On the weekend there are way too many people who think that alcohol and off roading are ok. Seen too many close calls where people drive like they are the only ones there.

Red sands are dunes and dunes of very fine sand. These dunes actually move. You can tell by seeing the buried yucca plants. Unruly because bomb fires, camping, drinking and more are allowed. Some folks bring rifles and out back have target practice.
The location has two HUGE hills known as little red and BIG red.
Ive climbed little red in a K5 blazer with Easton 4:10 tru-loc and a 350 powerplant and a 700-R4
BIG red is another story exclusive to large quads. Never the less both are challenging. When out at red sands safe off roading practice is best.

Refrain from going on Sundays, Saturday is ok but Sunday is unsafe for the young ones except extremely lose sand any 4x4 truck should be fine though. Never go on Black Friday, independence day, and memorial day if you aren't willing to get ran over or ran into. Remember there is no law enforcement or rules. Folks with concealed carry should be packing. But the emergency service they have at the rent an atv place do have weapons everyone is also freindly and helpful if you get stuck. Just remember there is a dumpster at the entrance provided by the off road adventures free of charge

Can you drive a car into red sands?
Yes, but, 4x4 would be recommended since the sand is very loose
