The history of this building and its rescue is interesting in itself. Coupled with a broad range of exhibits this made for a fascinating visit. We especially enjoyed the Ed Stilley exhibition.

A free museum in the old capital building. Very little remains in terms of state house furnishings, but there is an interesting history museum housed inside. Parking was very difficult, but the hotel right next door had public access garage parking for a reasonable rate.

This is the former state capitol building of Arkansas. It leans a little too much on the architecture and renovation aspects for my taste but I am sure there are those that love this kind of thing. There is a cabinet of curiosities area on...More

Greek Revival architecture of the 19th Century blends beautifully with the "Old Southern" atmosphere of the lawn and river views. A mix of well-maintained History and contemporary functionality blend well. Have visited many times including original "get acquainted" tour to annual Christmas concerts. A lovely...More
