We chartered the Imagine That! for an afternoon cruise for my wife’s 50th birthday at the end of August because we wanted to do something completely fun and different yet safe in the time of Covid - and it was honestly perfect. My wife is the type-A person in the relationship, but since it was her birthday, this was something I was organizing. They helped make sure that everything was covered and in the places where I needed to ask questions or make requests, they (Scott and Dan) were so responsive! This made my job so much easier.
The day of the cruise both Scott (the owner) and Dan (the captain) met us and showed us around, went over safety features and made sure that we were all set to go. Captain Dan was great – he offered several options on where to cruise, and obliged when we said to just take the most scenic route he could in the 5 hours we had planned. He was gracious and accommodating to a ‘T’. The two young ladies who were on board to serve food and drinks were fun, helpful and made sure our glasses were never empty.
The boat itself was magnificent – spacious, clean, and gorgeous both inside and out. Since it was a beautiful day we spent all of our time on deck, but it was great having two bathrooms as well as a full kitchen at our disposal. The boat was a perfect size for our party of ten – any more and it would have been crowded, but we were fine. We had full reign of the boat and we all really felt like it was ours for the day. The five hours we booked went by much too quickly – so much so that we even when we added an extra hour at the end. My wife and all of our guests said it was one of the best birthday celebrations ever, and we all will be chartering the boat again next summer.

We came to NYC as a family and wanted to do something extra special that none of us have experienced before. Sailing with Captain Dan, the crew and the boat we had was all perfection. We highly recommend this for families, couples, groups..anyone. We brought our drinks and food on board and had an attendant that took care of the rest. We had a brand new boat that was incredibly comfortable for the 11 of us. "the movie star" was the name of the boat. Doing the 6-9pm cruise was an amazing experience, ending at sunset in front of the Statue of Liberty. we will be back to do it again.

The plan was to charter a yacht for a cruise around NYC where I was going to pop the question and then get dropped off in Brooklyn, where all of our family and friends would be waiting for us. It was July 11, 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic and I could not find anyone who would accommodate any arrangements for my engagement idea. I reached out to Captain Dan and he came to the rescue. Captain saved the day and it was the perfect proposal! Not only did he accommodate all of my requests, he also arranged for everything to be taken care of so I didn’t have to worry about anything (I was already nervous about the proposal, keeping it a secret and making sure everything was perfect).
We got on the gorgeous and clean yacht and sailed off into the sunset. We stopped for some photos around the Statue of Liberty with the NYC skyline in the background and that’s when I popped the question. After she said yes, we popped some bubbly and off we went. We arrived at our destination and were greeted by family and friends. Captain Dan made it happen and everything was perfect. I highly recommend SailNYC and Captain Dan for anyone looking to rent a boat in NYC for any occasion!
I can’t wait to see the video of the proposal so we can show it to all of our guests at the wedding.

Had an AMAZING night sailing with Captain Paul and his Wife Melissa. They were punctual, friendly and so hospitable. The Odette was immaculate, Melissa made sure we had a great time. The Music was great, they made sure we were entertained and took us to all the sights we wanted to see. They positioned the boat so that we had spectacular views and great photo opportunities. They took us to the Statue of Liberty, up the East River, under the Brooklyn Bridge and made sure to point out view points for us to see. Overall we had 5 star service hands down. Grateful to Captain Paul and Melissa for ensuring our evening was special. Can’t thank them enough for all the great memories.

Rented a 2h cruise this past weekend for 4 from Jersey City. Captain Dan was awesome - connected with us by email several times prior to sail date and gave good instructions on everything and anything related. He has a lot of local knowledge of the port area and made our [out of town] guests feel comfortable and relaxed. Everything went perfectly and I will definitely rent again.

Highly recommend Sail NYC! Extremely professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and they make every effort to give guests the best experience. Captain Scott was wonderful!!!!! We booked a 2 hour boat ride for some business colleagues, and they thoroughly enjoyed every minute!

I cannot say enough good things about Captain Dan and our sail on Sound Waves. Dan was a calming influence on a very hyped up group trying to keep a secret about a wedding proposal and it was a huge success. Bring some wine, cheese and crackers, and a camera and enjoy a sail in NYC Harbor. Get up close and personal with Lady Liberty and take in the NYC skyline.
I hope to get the opportunity to book with Dan again. You cannot go wrong with Captain Dan.

This tour was a fantastic 2-hours providing a unique view of NYC...especially the Statue of Liberty. Great flexibility to spend more time in areas you prefer and less where interest is lower. Dan is professional, enjoyable and very accommodating to the group----our's was a family of four. The boat was clearly the nicest and classiest on the water that day....makes everyone feel pampered.

There's no better way to beat the heat of NYC than to get out on the water with Sail NYC. Although many of my friends and I have lived in NYC for 9 years, this was our first time sailing around the city and HIGHLY recommend others to take part.
It was super easy to book the boat, payment was clear, and Captain Ed was great. It's really the perfect opportunity to get friends together for a reasonable price and have a wonderful day in NY. Will definitely be back again.

I was looking for a cruise experience for my daughter's 21st birthday and so happy I booked with Captain Dan and Sail NYC! He was fantastic to work with and when my daughter and her friends arrived on the boat, the crew was amazing! They had a great and safe time!
I will definitely look to book again for another special event or just a nice afternoon or early evening cruise!
